Drill Right Through
Needed these bits to drill through 1/2" stainless steel plate. They really work well. Great bite. If it walks on a smooth surface just start hole with a center punch.

Sharp and Re-Sharpenable!
Seem like quality, I like that they came with a thin coat of rust prohibitor. As an industrial maintanence mechanic I wanted something that can be reshaped and sharpened. These were the best quality to dollar deal I found after an hour of research!

Worst customer service ever and charges 50% restocking fee on defective material.
Drill bits would not drill in hardened steel. Tried enlarging a 3/16" hole to 1/4". Used 500 rpm drill speed, medium feed rate and lubricating oil. Drill immediately wore down about 3/8". Irwin and supplier blamed user instead of admitting to a defective drill bit. I initially was unsuccessful using a high speed steel bit and same setup and was unsuccessful, however the original bit dulled but didn't wear like the Irwin bit with 8% cobalt. I was finally successful enlarging the hole using a different manufacturer's cobalt bit with the same setup. Additionally, the seller would not refund my original purchase price but charged me a 50% restocking fee. I will never purchase a Irwin tool nor buy from this seller again.

Misleading photo/description?
The drill bits are fine, but the set I received did not include the 1/2” bit promised by the photo and description. Had I known the set would not include the 1’2” bit, I would have selected a different brand.

They are not cheap but if used properly will drill anything you need to drill.

Misleading...Steer Clear!
Shows in the photo it comes with an 1/2” bit, it doesn’t! In fact some of the bits that are shown in the photo are not even in the set I got (see photo I attached). The only reason I bought this set is for the 1/2” bit, if I would have known I wasn’t going to get it I would have gone elsewhere. Will NEVER buy from them again!
