I've tried those hands free kits that use your vehicle's radio, and I found none of them that worked without static. This is the best hands free kit by far (because it's blue tooth). My only issue is that I have a hard time hearing on it. I have the volume set on max, but it can still be hard to hear. You can move the mic around, so nobody has issues with hearing me, I just have to listen hard to hear them. Also, with my vehicle I have to unplug and plug in the adapter everytime I get into my vehicle for the thing to pair to my phone.

The camera will sometimes switch on while you are driving down the street. Other times when you want to use it, it won't turn on.

I had waited to upgrade to the iPhone 5 because I, like many (believe it or not) have been waiting for TomTom to make a new Hands-Free Car Kit to accommodate the iPhone 5. Well, unfortunately they never did. And to my understanding never intend to. However, after some careful investigation and many a conversation on the TomTom forum, I came to find out the the Hands-Free Car Kit for Smartphone works great for the iPhone 5. You can even use it with a cover/case on the phone. The only additional item you will need to purchase to make this work seamlessly is the Apple micro-USB to Lightning adaptor.I have been using this with my new iPhone 5C for over a week now and it works great! Even better constructed than the previous model by TomTom.Works great with the TomTom navigation iPhone App. Has a mic that you can relocate. Makes your phone into a hands-free device. What more could you ask for?Well, I got a few requests:Please stop texting while driving (not only is that obnoxious, inconsiderate, but also very dangerous). The same goes for driving while dialing or holding your mobile phone to your ear. Please purchase one of these devised so you are less of an obnoxious "You-/Know-What" to others.

Got this hands free set for my truck.. the speaker on it is really hard to hear. Other people could hear me just fine but I could barely hear them. Then after about 2 weeks the microphone stop working now all I have is a expensive phone holder... not happy with this product at all.. and one other thing when I put my phone on it to charge it would only charge every once in awhile... Tom Tom handsfree is one P.O.S!!!!! Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As previously mentioned by other Amazon customer/user of the device, this Tomtom Hand free Car Kit for Smartphone, is a Bluetooth speakerphone, amplifies the GPS voice instructions and charges my Samsung Galaxy S4 while it's in use.It’s very friendly use device “plug and play” it only took me a couple of minutes to figure it out and pair it with my phone. It should work on any Smartphone that with micro USB plug. If you need one for the iPhone, make sure you order one designed for the iPhone because the connection is different, however, there is an adapter available to change connections between Micro USB and Apple device connections.The company I purchased it from (Quantum Wireless) process and deliver the order (standard shipping) very fast. I was very impressed with their service. I order it on Jan 07/14 and it was delivered in my front door (early afternoon) on Jan 10/14 after a 727 miles journey. Now that what I call Service, I recommend them and the product as well.

This is a great little device which is now (spring 2016) modified for several kinds of phones. I use it for my iPhone 6 and it works great. However, you need an adapter from micro USB to the new Apple plug.

We used the Tom Tom kit for our iPhone 3GS and were delighted. Purchased for use with an iPhone 5. Will not work. Hope you come out with a car kit for iPhone 5 soon.

Exceeded my expectations in every way possibly. Very sturdy device. Once installed on the glass windshield, never needs to be reinstalled (unless you park your car under direct sunlight. In that case, it is better to re-fix it after everything cools down). The phone does not vibrate once mounted - very important for me. Bonus feature that I did not expect - it can even play streaming music over Bluetooth from your phone! I had not installed a music system in my small car, and this feature is great!
