Q: What is the maximum charge current? It started pulling 4A to charge a 2S pack of 18650s.

The description says 8 Amps is the upper current limit. If you have 2 cells in 2s configuration, it seems a little hot because each will charge at 4 amps (assuming a drain of 4 amps from a 9v supply, you get 36 watts dividedvinto 2 cells). Rule of thumb is charge no faster than the discharge rating. E.g. a 2400maH cell has a nominal charge rate of 2400ma. So 4 cells in 2s config would be okay with that current. You might also check the supply voltage. It must be over 9v AFAIK, but not 12v or the circuit will shunt a lot of extra power somewhere. I hooked mine to a 9v wall wart that only puts out 1amp. Running 2 years almost with 4 cells in 2s, only charged it 6 times or so.

Q: Can I wire 6 batteries to this in such a way that all the voltages are the same at each point? (assuming matched batteries.)

In theory, it can be used for 2 parallel 3 series battery packs. It should be noted that the battery voltage should match. But we don't recommend using it like this.

Q: How are you suppose to charge the batteries with this? Do you just hook it up to a 12v wall plug?

It is recommended that you charge the battery with a 12.6 lithium battery charger.The full voltage of the 3-cell lithium battery is 12.6V, and it cannot be fully charged by directly charging with the 12V wall plug.
