pricey but worth it
I bought this for my fiance for his birthday because he had been talking about it non stop, he was ecstatic to see this and to get it. He tore into it immediately and I'll just say the cards in this set are amazing and ruthless! He and I were very pleased, he has been buffing it out with his own cards and it is a very mean deck. it is very pricey but to make him happy and get him what he wants for really amazing cards is all worth it.

Fun Expansion
Like most Magic products fun to play with friends and waste time. Commander (EDH) has been a popular version of magic for years. These series of decks make fun baseline decks. Though to make them shine you have to modify them (nothing new there). It's a good product.

great intro pack
I was having a hard time building a good commander deck from my current collection. I bought a few of these to test play and swap a few cards out. I have a much better time playing with friends.

The rest of the good rares are worth about 6 dollars
The paper value for the cards in this set is 100-120 dollars depending. Most of the other 2011 sets sell much closer to their real value. For some reason this set is almost 100 dollars more. I have no idea why. Kaalia is worth about $30, or $60 if you get her in the Commander Arsenal set. The rest of the good rares are worth about 6 dollars, and then it goes to about a dollar a card or less.I understand sellers are trying to make a profit. They deserve to profit, but the markup on this set is 100% of normal.Just get Devour for Power, Counterpunch, Mirror Mastery, or Political Puppets, and skip this.

One of the best precons, but you have to shop wisely.
This review is for the deck; not the third-party sellers. This deck starts with a fun, powerful base and only gets better with upgrades. I got into Commander within the last few years after a long MTG hiatus. This set has plenty of modern punch but also has a fun old school feel thanks to the creature selection. After I added a couple more mana rocks and swapped out some non-theme creatures for some more angels, demons, and dragons, I literally could not stop playing this deck. Whether you're new to Commando or a pro, if you want a precon deck that will satisfy from day one, this is it.Now, about that third-party price. You can look around and find this for around a Benjamin. Or, you can go to your favorite singles website and populate the deck list. Yank out all the lands, weak creatures, and other chaff you don't need/want, and you can get the core of this deck for a Grant (or two Jacksons if you don't mind heavily played). With so many good dragons and angels out there, and likely in your existing collection, you can build a killer version of this deck without crushing your wallet.
