Outstanding Color Work from Vivian Maier
I was familiar with her B&W work but had never seen her color photography. I have to say, this work is truly outstanding in every sense. Vivian Maier should be recognized as one of the great American photographers of the 20th century.

Un libro maravilloso que nos permite conocer un poco más de la enigmática Vivian Maier. Es un viaje de placer recorrer cada una de sus páginas. Enseña a mirar. Entrega fue en tiempo y forma.

Lovely, but with redundancies
Lovely book of her work but was a bit disappointed that with the hundreds of thousands of prints Mr. Maloof owns, there were many duplications of the color photos he already included in his former book entitled Vivian Maier A Photographer Found.

Great book!
Fantastic book and photos! I have all books of Vivian, black & white versions, and this one in color (great dimensions 32.5 x 27cm) is a jewel, also. Thanks

Amazing color photos by Vivian Maier
I could stare at some of the photos in this book for a very long time. Even the cover is amazing. Looking through this book is like traveling through time. Vivian captured the essence of some many places and people. I'm a fan.

I won't pretend that I like every single photo Vivian Maier took (in this collection). That is simply not true. But I do love the majority. It shows that she had an eye for a photo, but it also showed that she developed it by taking photos. It's a bit like the old joke - How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practise. Her work makes me want to walk the streets and document all the wonderfully banal, everyday and weird things that happen all around us. I'm not fearless so I don't do quite as much street photography as I would like. I'm scared of confrontation (probably needlessly so). Vivian Maier clearly wasn't scared to take photos, notwithstanding the difference between now and then. For inspiration of what can be done - remember she often had children with her - this is a great book and it's beautifully produced. The story of how her work came to be known is also something that is quite astonishing. If this were the plot of a Hollywood movie, nobody would believe it. But buy this book for the photos - they are the whole reason for the book.
