It is strong and it holds a lot!
I had two large versions of this and I thought that they were roomy...this one is XX-LARGE compared to those. I also just purchased a set of colanders for food...this one came in very handy for another use. I collect seashells. Often sellers that I buy from send shells scooped up directly from the beach. These shells are sometimes really dusty. I put the small shells into this colander and hold them under a gentle stream of water to remove the dust and anything else on them. It has worked through thousands upon thousands of small shells. I bought it for the shell use but I can see it holding enough veggies or fruits like grapes, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, strawberries for maybe two or three people. Check out their larger one that fits in a sink and comes with a smaller colander that attaches to the big one. I love Joseph Jospeh products. This colander is strong and it holds a lot!

Versatile tool
This tool has come in super handy during my cooking. The size is substantial enough to pick ip a big scoops of boiled or blanched vegetables and pastas. I've used it also as a strainer for tuna and freshly cleaned berries... This just comes in very handy.

best kitchen tool
This Scoop Plus is the best idea. I looked at it and thought that might make things easier sometimes. Wasn't totally convinced it would be used a lot, until it arrived. I use this all the time. I have not even pulled my colander out since this scoop arrived. I struggle with my hands and often can't lift a pot to drain it. This scoop has made my life easier. I can scoop out the pasta, vegetables, etc. without asking for assistance. I love this and would definitely recommend this scoop/colander/strainer. And I would also like to add that I have several Joseph Joseph products and that was part of the reason for my purchase.

Puke Green is for Litter Boxes, Other Colors for Kitchens
The green is not a fresh green or a spring green or a lively herbal green or, indeed, any green meant to live in a kitchen. I live in the country, have cats, have had the experience of being in the midst of cooking when a cat has shown up with a mouse or produced an impromptu hairball. Such events need to be dealt with and then attention goes back to cooking after much hand washing and sometimes even a change of clothing. So, I can put up with cooking and distractions. However, putting up with cooking and a Puke Green scoop is something else. Good heavens, this green is the color of overcooked canned asparagus. Probably worse. The thought of draining pasta into this thing is a culinary turnoff. I went with the green because the price of the other colors was higher. Mistake. The top review discusses the use of this scoop for litter boxes and that is how I am using this green thing. And, as it looks like a good thing to have handy, I am reordering it in another color for my kitchen.

Wonderful
This is excellent. It means that I do not have to use a big strainer at all

This thing is huge!
This was a lot, LOT larger than I thought it would be. That said, I love it. You can probably pick up a quarter of a pound of macaroni in one spoonful. It’s like having a small colander at the end of a handle. Very sturdy. There’s no bending of the handle even after it’s been in hot water stirring pasta.I bought it on a whim, but I ended up using it a lot more than I thought I would. It’s great for transferring large amounts out of a pot into a storage bowl - it holds about four or five times more than your average spatula or ladle.

Incredibly versatile
I use this for all things boiled! Pasta, peas, ravioli, anything you need separated from water, this is your go to tool. Large scoop that acts like a caldron (which I really hate to use since this is so much easier and less clean up & takes up less space than caldrons)!
