Excellent once you figure out how to use it safely
I've been using this deodorant for a few years now, and I have mostly good things to say about it and a few tips to share. I bought the small applicator bottle only once and have refilled it several times, and it's still working great. The ring that retains the ball unscrews from the bottle, so the bottle, the ring, the ball, and the cap can all be washed and dried separately. I have learned to refill the applicator bottle only partially, no more than half full, and keep the rest of the refill bottle in the refrigerator. This means the product is sitting out at room temperature for less time between washings and refillings, and I believe it stays fresher this way, possibly leading to less irritation, which brings me to my next point. Early on in my use of this product, I suffered some skin irritation where I had applied it, but I have learned some best practices to avoid that, and I have not suffered any irritation in a long time now. It seems to be fairly important that your skin (and any underarm hair) is fully *dry* before applying this product. Avoid rubbing your underarms with a towel to dry them, as that will exfoliate the skin and leave it more vulnerable. Instead, pat dry only, and then wait to air dry fully. Once dry, reach your arm backward behind your head so your underarm is facing upward, and then hold the bottle inverted in your other hand and roll it gently over your underarm, keeping the bottle perpendicular to your skin at all points. You need to avoid allowing the rim of the retaining ring to scrape along your skin, as that will damage the skin and lead to irritation, so be sure that *only the ball* contacts your skin. After applying, wait until the product has fully dried before putting on a shirt. The less time your underarms stay wet with this product, the less likely it is that they will become irritated by it. Following these precautions, I have not had any more irritation, and now I can confidently say that I love this product. Believing in the antimicrobial properties of silver, and being skeptical of the safety of aluminium-based antiperspirants, Silver Shield makes the most sense to me. Its ingredients are basically a solvent (water), a natural antimicrobial (silver nanoparticles), some thickeners (guar gum and xanthan gum), some pH buffers (baking soda and washing soda), some essential oils that smell nice, and a natural emulsifier (sunflower lecithin) to make the water and oils mix. Very straightforward. I have kind of wondered about the pH of this product with those sodas in it, as I have suspected that it may be somewhat caustic and that may have been contributing to the irritation I was experiencing, but I never got around to testing the pH since I figured out how to avoid the irritation. I am not a biochemist, but I'd guess this stuff might grow mold if it had a near-neutral pH, so maybe they have to give it a more alkaline pH to make it shelf-stable — totally an unsubstantiated guess on my part! Regarding scent, I don't know how Amazon's AI is concluding that this product is odorless. (Maybe it's getting confused by the structure of sentences like that last one there.) This product definitely has a scent. My girlfriend thinks it smells peppery. The product description says "floral," but that doesn't seem right to me. I don't know what it is, but it smells "natural" and clean, definitely like essential oils of some kind and not at all like the synthetic fragrances that most deodorants contain. The scent is noticeable but not overpowering. I am sensitive to strong fragrances, but this stuff never gives me a headache, and I'm the one wearing it. The scent lasts for a few hours, but the effectiveness of the product against body odor lasts *much* longer. I'm sure it depends on your particular body chemistry and microbiome, but I personally can go over 24 hours wearing this product without developing any off-putting odors at all. As other reviewers have noted, it is not an antiperspirant, and I do sweat through if I get too hot, but the sticky gums that are included in the product's formulation keep the product stuck where I applied it even when the sweat is dripping off of me. That said, it's always best to shower off and reapply after sweating a bunch. I think my only real complaint about this product is its price. It is certainly not inexpensive. However, you generally do get what you pay for, and this stuff is no exception. Real nano-silver and essential oils are not cheap ingredients. If you want an antimicrobial deodorant that actually works and doesn't contain a mad scientist's entire chemistry lab of questionable chemicals, then Silver Shield is the stuff you're looking for.

Good deodorant and clothing freshener
I tried this as a referral from a friend regarding Colloidal Silver. I used it and it smells like tea tree oil and chemicals. Strong but it didn't bother me much. It has a thick consistency. When I spray it on the smell dissipates so I don't smell like a medicine cabinet. I don't use it for deodorant anymore, but I have found that is is a great clothing freshener. When I traveled and could not wash clothes in a timely manner, I decided to spray this on odor prone areas of my clothes, let it dry, then wore it again. It neutralized the odors quite well. Now I carry it in my travel bag all the time.

My mom loves this deodorant
Since Avalon discontinued their spray deodorant, my mom searched high and low for a more natural deodorant that would not rash her out. She tried everything at the stores and I decided to see if I could find something that worked without irritating usually fragrances were the problem. Decided to try this since my girlfriend had made a sample of colloidal silver deodorant that my mom loved. And my mother was ecstatic it worked and didn't rash out her armpits.

Natural Deodorant That Really Keeps You Fresh
I have used every "natural" deodorant out there. This is literally the only one that keeps my B.O. away for a day. I shower at night, dry off, shake my little spray bottle, spray each pit 2-3 times and go about my merry way. I stopped using this deodorant for a while because I was trying so many other deodorants, and I regret stopping. Most aluminum-free deodorants use an oil base like coconut oil which clogs your pores and just feels heavy and unpleasant. And/Or it combats your B.O. with heavy fragrance. The nanosilver in this deodorant does not allow the B.O. causing bacteria to grow, so you stay fresh. Colloidal silver has a lot of clinical applications and medical professionals use it to treat burn victims. It is even a potential treatment for MRSA infections. I'm saying it's not just some hippie dippie fantasy make-believe. Oh, and I live in the South. Thank you for making such a great product!

Silver??? They should call this stuff liquid gold!!!
I will cry a big, sad river if this company ever goes out of business. I found this product at my local farmers market in Austin (where they make it) and gave it a try. I can't use any commercial deodorants. They work for a few weeks and then I start to have some sort of reaction where the deodorants stinks worse than if I wasn't using any at all. I have tried EVERY brand. Finally decided to give this a try and it has changed my life. I've been using it for almost three years now. I do experience burning on occasion, but it's pretty rare. (This is with the formula for sensitive skin - I can't use the non-sensitive formula as it does burn.) I highly encourage you to give it a try - you will LOVE it.
