PlayStation 2 Slim Console PS2 (Renewed)

To begin with, I was a tad nervous after reading some of the 1 or 3-star reviews with damage or even dead roaches or bugs inside the player. However, because of the pandemic and the difficulty in acquiring a PS5, I’ve been rediscovering an appreciation for my older PS2 titles and took the chance since a majority of the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. I gave away my PS2 slim to my 7 year-old nephew at the time a little over a decade ago. I also gave away or donated most of my games to my nephew or orphanages, but I kept a few that I loved in storage. My product arrived a day before the expected arrival, and man, I forgot how small the PS2 slim model was! Mine works perfectly and there was no damage or anything. VERY MINOR scratch on the top of the player, but other than that, nothing was compromised. I unearthed my old PS2 games I kept and been enjoying those all over again, especially ones that I know will likely never be ported over digitally (or never remastered) to the newer generation consoles. If you have the extra buying power, then I HIGHLY recommend this. I’d also recommend buying a couple of memory cards, an extra controller (if you like) and the PS2 HDMI converter/adapter in case your TVs don’t support those classic, colored, Audio-Video (AV) component cables. So I purchased that too separately to enjoy my games with an HD experience! Thank you! It’s been the best!

I never leave reviews normally but this is really sad. I should have read the reviews more because it seems everyone is getting same experience. I’ve tried multiple games and tried to play at least 20-30 times over the weekend and was only able to get the system to read a disc ONCE. Returning and won’t be buying again.

Works great for her dads old games

Recently bought Barn Yard and Baldurs Gate for ps2 so this was a quick nice alternative to paying a couple hundred in store. Didnt register disc at first but took two seconds to fix that problem. No scratches on discs and runs great so far, only used twice now but have high hopes.

The item I received, wasn't within the parameters set forth by Amazon. The "Renewed" statement by Amazon says that an item, that is renewed, has very little in the way of scratches while looking at it at 12 inches. And that the item has been cleaned, repaired if necessary and tested for functionality. And therefore it is Guaranteed to be fully functional. Well... here is a list of issues that I found. It was obvious that this PlayStation 2 console had never been taken apart cleaned. Dust is/was throughout the systems vents. And... who ever owned it prior was a smoker...there is evidence of smoke tar in the unit and I could smell it. The Disk cover is damaged....it will make a popping/crunching sound when opened or closed --Note: it doesn't do this each and every time you open/close it. Someone installed, what I would call "Stickers", to deceptively cover heavy scratching and dings that are on top of the console. It is/was obvious that this PS2 console has been beat on badly in the past and is in dire need of some TLC. In my opinion, the optical drive needs to be replaced and the entire inside needs to be cleaned. The Scratches and Dings on the outside of the console wouldn't have bothered me at all, if the system was indeed cleaned, tested and fully functional. Please note: I removed the "Stickers" ….. Because, the one on the Disk cover had stuck to the side of the console and prevented me from opening the cover to install a game disk. Amazon … if you are viewing this review. I recommend that who ever supposedly cleaned, tested and repaired this unit... needs to be fired and never used for any future "Renewed" products

Game console was great! Product was wrapped really well and exceptionally clean. The controller didn't work, but system worked perfectly!

My daughter loves it

Trying to see if i can contact the seller, but I am NOT happy. I bought this about 4 months ago along with 3 PS2 games. X-Men Legends, X-Men Legends 2, and Champions of Norrath. Worked great, until today. I turned the consol on to play one of the games and it said "Unable to Read Disc". I opened the dic tray and saw a trace amount of a white powdery substance. I removed the disc and there is a scratch ring all around the disc which was the source of the powder. I checked the other two games, and they have the same ring. Now I can't play any of them!
