didn't work for us - probably should be glass
We bought this for our grandson's science experiment, to determine the density of small objects. You fill up the beaker with filtered water or distilled water to the spout. Then you put in the small object, and catch the overflow. The problem with liquids and plastic, is that liquids have a molecular attraction and tend to stick, so we didn't get any overflow. The water in the beaker just filled the little spout, plugged it closed, and then the water level went higher. Liquids also tend to have the same attraction to glass, but I'm thinking it's not so much. So, we couldn't use this, and for his experiment just measured the change in water level in a graduated cylinder (that we also purchased on Amazon). I think the overflow beaker has to be glass.
