Great mechanical BUT NO ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The unit itself is great, strong and easy to install, BUT THE DESCRIPTIONS ONLINE AND ON THE PACKAGE ARE VERY MISLEADING. The ad calls it a Mechanical Fuel Tank SENDER. and states that it is "Calibrated to the industry standard of 33-240 Ohms" and "Compatible with option dash mounted gauge" There is nowhere in the ad or on the package that references what additional hardware is needed to connect it with the dash gauge. It took some research to figure this out. MINIMALLY, believe that the ad and the package should state that an adapter is needed to connect it to the dash gauge, and it must be purchased separately, and give the part number to order.Having said this, I would give the unit itself a 5, but because of the misleading or incomplete information, have lowered it to a 4. If additional hardware is required to take advantage of the fact it is a SENDER, that should be clearly and plainly shown.

Fool proof
I love it. I got fed up with the gauge and sender. It works, it dont work, is it working ? What's it doing ? Forget it. If you have visible access to your tank (mine is very easily accessible) this is a fool proof and accurate way to eliminate the guesswork. with kids on board, I feel better knowing not guessing. I would recommend and purchase again if needed.

Fool proof
I used this sender as a replacement in my boat’s below deck tank after both the electronic sender and remote fuel gauge had failed and left me without fuel twice. This sender is robust and seems to be of good quality. Some important install notes:-The standard ANSI/SAE 5-bolt hole pattern is slightly asymmetric and only allows for one-way install. So if you plan to reuse existing holes, it can only mount in one orientation.-Neither the gauge or the float swing direction can be adjusted (like on some electronic ones) The gauge itself only fits in the sender housing one way.-Comparing the gauge dial to a clock (1/2 tank at 12 o’clock position) the nub in the housing is at 6 o’clock. The float arm swings in the 3 o’clock direction.Luckily this ended up working well for my tank shape/orientation but it may not for others without some modification.

LEAKED
IT'S A MOELLOR GAUGE AND I HAVE A NEW MOELLOR TANK. EVEN ONE STAR IS TOO HIGH MORE LIKE ZERO. INSTALLED IT AND THE NEXT DAY SMELLED GAS. OPENED THE FLOOR HATCH AND SAW GAS LEAKING OUT OF THE GAUGE. TRIED TO CONTACT MOELLOR TECH SUPPORT BUT SO FAR NO RESPONSE. WANTED A MECHANICAL GAUGE SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO RUN ANYMORE WIRES. ENDED UP PUMPING GAS OUT THEN REINSTALLING THE ELECTRIC SENDER THAT CAME WITH THE TANK. NOT VERY SATISFIED WITH PRODUCT.

Moeller replacement for Taylor gauge +++
Very nice gauge. Simple drop in replacement for the Taylor gauge that had failed. The screw holes are on a standard ANSI pattern. This came with the gasket and 2 choices for screws, fine and coarse thread. Added the electronic conversion capsule in place of the visual gauge that was already there. A simple screw in replacement with tabs that index it into place so that there is no guesswork as to where it should be oriented. I could not be more pleased!!! +++++

Great quality. Fast and easy installation.
Great price. Very fast and easy to install. The fuel gauge on my boat crapped out on me and I bought this to replace it. The dash fuel gauge would have cost me over $200 and would have been very complicated to install this was fast and easy.

Great Item but different size screws added and no second gasket.
This item has a flange that is thinner than any of the four modeler tanks I have. I ordered in for a 12 gallon tank and it came with one gasket and screws that did not match any of the modeler tanks I own in different boats. I had to order a replacement gasket from Moellee and mount the gauge with two gaskets under the flange to seal the gauge to the tank. The gauge mounted fine and I will know the accuracy in a few months when I complete building my boat.

Really glad I chose this model. It's what I wanted for the money.
Perfect product. Easy to install, high quality stuff. I even found a conversion kit that allows you to connect this to a dashboard so it's a good starter gauge if you have limited funds. What I mean is, put this one in on the tank first. Then later, by the converter that connects it to a dashboard fuel gauge. I love it, glad I bought it. Put it on my built in tank for a 1981 gastron fiberglass run about 16ft boat.
