Very nice and effective tool don't worry about the bad reviews, most bad reviews came from people that have hard time using any thing that is more advance than a pencil. it will take few days to get used to it and the software gets more used to you ( the more vendors names and categories you add things will get easier next time you use the same vendor or category because its already stored). the complain about the delay is normal because the process of your receipt or document does not happen on your computer it is sent to the neat company over the internet the comes back to your computer so your internet speed is a big factor in average each receipt takes about 30 seconds between scanning and processioning if you scan your receipts in daily basis thing will be easier, just remember at the end of the year when you push a button and have all of your numbers ready, added and categorized for tax prep.

I never write reviews. NEVER. But this has been the worst experience I've ever received as far as:- Overall performance of a device that is supposed to be designed for convenience, yet is an inconvenience.- And the support in general from Neat.com.I run many online websites and a manufacturing facility that sells online. I have a very chaotic schedule daily and scanning documents and letters are crucial to my success. Every since purchased this product, I have had trouble with it even reading that there is a piece of paper to scan. I have to force quit the application, reopen and try again. Repeating until it finally sees that there is a piece of paper to scan. Insanely frustrating. The “SCAN” button on the top? You would think that would allow you to just roll right up to the scanner, put a piece of paper in and when you pressed the button, BOOM. It would scan. But, evidently that is just there to make this device look like its’ more convenient, like a sales trick. This has never worked since day one, Jun 8, 2016. I guess we can dream.I started just sending pictures of letters to my CPA, taken from my iPhone instead.And it doesn’t stop there…If you’ve updated to MacOS Sierra, you’re done. I updated to the latest MacOS and the scanner will not even work through their application. They keep telling me a date the update is supposed to be fixed, and that they will email me the patch file. Well, never happens. After a couple days went by form when the representative said they would email it, I reached back out. They sent me a new link to the download and I went through the entire uninstall/re-installing process only to find out that the updated patch still isn’t finished. Yeah, it was the same version i already had.I called back. They said its still not finished. Apple released the new OS on September 20th, 2016 and the beta version for developers wad released much, much sooner than that.You mind as well unplug your scanner and walk outside… find the closest pond, woods or lake to test out your fastest curve-ball. Or, curve-scanner. That’s where this piece needs to live.Today, I have spent a total of 2 hours and 13 minutes talking to Neat.com customer service agents, trying to get this scanner to scan a document. They had me download their older application to at least get it to work, however, the ‘SCAN’ button on the top still doesn’t and they don’t know when it will.Result? I chose the woods outside my shop.

This scanner is perfect for my business. It keeps my receipts organized. The compact size is perfect, it does not take up much room on my desk

This was a replacement for my previous one that stopped working. This is my third one. When it works it is great! I hope this one last longer. The software has some glitches, but what software doesn't I guess. My only disappointment was expecting 2 day delivery and waiting a week for it.

Doesn't work with my old software I installed when I had a desktop size. I've tried contacting them and nothing. No response after 9 emails. Trying to get them on the phone is worse. I wish there was another product like this at similar price I would have purchased theirs.

I love this smaller potable version. So easy to use. I even scan photos on it, by scanning as document in color. The photos are perfect for online sharing, not likely good enough to have prints made though. Since it's portable, I can take it along with my laptop and scan photos and documents at my family members homes. I not only use this for tax and organization purposes, but also for ancestry/genealogy.
