Works perfect
As with most DEI products, it worked properly and perfect as soon as install was complete. Don't expect any vehicle support if you aren't a certified dei distributor not do they offer a website for the average DIY installer but that info can be found by other manufacturers and 12v sites. Shame on them for always being that way but their products are versatile and will last.

amazing value for $50
$50 alarm with 2 small fob/remotes, adjustable shock protection, siren, starter bypass, parking light flash, door lock+unlock & more options I didn’t use. The control unit/brain is a small 4"x3"x1.5”. For me this was a Simple install with simple instructions but only if your somewhat familiar with basic wiring & some soldering for more reliable connections, otherwise take it to an alarm installer. This is an amazing value for $50 delivered for a car alarm system for some added peace of mind plus the convenience of keyless lock/unlock of the doors. This install took me 5hrs to complete but half of that time was for me probing & testing my vehicle wires so I can connect them to the correct alarm wiring on my 2001 Tacoma. Interestingly enough most of the connections I needed were all on the white 21 pin connector plugged into the fuse block located on the drivers side access cover. If you don’t have a car alarm I think this is a MUST have extra protection option.

Great Alarm for the Price. Zero Complaints.
So far this alarm has exceeded my expectations for $34. I installed it in a 2005 Toyota Tacoma with factory remote locks but no alarm, and I retained all of the factory features (one click to unlock driver door, two clicks to unlock both doors, one click to lock both doors, panic button) in addition to the alarm functioning perfectly as if it were a factory alarm. It's nice to be able to select between arming/disarming chirps and silent arming/disarming. The key fob is also smaller than my factory Toyota key fob, so it fits more nicely in my pocket. Installation was a bit of a pain, but wiring always is. Most vehicles have diagrams online, or at least lists, that tell you where to find each wire to tap into. I highly recommend finding one for reference, as well as soldering all joints and sealing them with shrink tube and electric tape. Plan to spend an entire afternoon installing the alarm if you've never done one before though...or pay a shop to do it, which isn't a terrible idea if you have the cash. It's a well-earned $100.

Replace the batteries with high quality lithium to increase longevity of remote range
Works great after over a year in every way but one...the original batteries that the remotes came with lost a significant amount of capability in the first month, turning that incredible range into as little as 5 feet in some cases...after 6 months, at best, the remotes would only work up to about 40 feet away...the instructions were good but I wouldn't encourage anyone to install an alarm unless they have some experience with car electrical systems...the alarm hooks into many different circuits to achieve all of its functionality...

Great product!
Didn’t come with the glow in the dark buttoned remotes like picture shows which i was looking forward to, no external antenna either just a little wire. But overall great product!

Good value
Same company that makes Cobra. Nice basic car alarm. My third one I've installed on my cars.

Avital 3100LX 1-Way Security System
I ordered the Avital 3100L here on Amazon, when I received the product and opened it up, I realized that the packaging, and box was not what I ordered. Disappointed, but not wanting to send it back and complain to get the right product, I decided I would just do with what I have. The setup is quite simple, an easy install for someone who knows what they are doing. It is an okay build for someone who is a novice, but if you're a beginner working on a newer vehicle, I would not suggest that you try to install this yourself. There is a lot of wire tracing, and looking up of schematics. If you decide to do this yourself, make sure that you order some extra wiring, some 22 for the siren, 18 for typical wiring though you shouldn't need any and some 16 or 14 for running to your battery. You might want to get a set like this Neiko 175 Pieces Solderless Wire Terminal & Connection with Wire Stripper Crimper Tool to help you connect wires, as well as 16-14 T-Tap Connectors 50 Pack . You will likely only need 4 or 5 of these, but they are handy to have around. This was a fun and interesting install, easier on older vehicles, but beware, old wires can be brittle.I hope this information was helpful.

Great name-brand alarms!
Top brand alarm, and very easy to install. I've installed many different variations and models of Avital remote starts, keyless entries and alarms. Always have trouble-free installation with Directed brands and add-ons are easy to interface. I've also used these for garage alarms powered by 12v UPS and 12v switches on windows and doors. Put the siren outside under an eave or awning. You will need some extra wiring depending on distance of switches, etc from main unit. Works like a charm in any application. Will definitely order again.
