VALUE
Ok full disclosure: I'm a home gamer, and I've never used a router in my life. But professionally, I'm around a lot of millwork and millworkers, and I'm responsible for a lot of cabinet construction, so I'm not totally clueless. I also only unboxed it today, and I've only had a chance to familiarize myself with it and make a few test cuts on some scrap. It's confusing to me how you can buy a tool like this for this price. The spindle casement is aluminum and is pretty well turned. The rack and pinion depth adjustment is very nice to use. There are no depth stops, and the graduations are pretty much fantasy. I just used a sliding square to set depth, and it worked fine. The soft start is really cool, especially for me living in a condo (I have a small circular saw that makes the lights dim really badly, but this thing doesn't do that at all). It seems powerful enough for light to medium duty. I bought it to do a rabbets for a set of plywood shelves for my girlfriend, but I'll likely find tons of uses for this tool. For the money especially, I can't think of how you could do better.

Nice little router - glad I bought it
I did a bunch of research on getting a router, and was interested in these smaller ones to replace my large Craftsman plunge router. Large routers have their place, but for me it always seemed like overkill. This model is very similar - if not identical to - the Makita Rt0701C which is available for an extra $30 or so.I used it this weekend for some edge routing, some plunge routing and some flush work. It did just fine across the board. I like the soft start, the relative light weight, the bit visibility and the quality of the unit. I used the edge guide as well as the straight guide, and they both worked just fine. The guides are made of solid metal, and didn't seem cheap or just a tacky add-on; they were quite functional.I didn't use the dust extractor, however it is made of heavy gauge plastic and seems like it would work well.Overall, very glad I bought this router. Of course, I wish it came with a hard plastic case, however those seem to be getting pretty scarce with tools these days.

Soft start!!!
Great price, easy to use but could use a slightly wider base. Has plenty of power for a trim router but don’t plan to use it in my router table because it would be a little weak. The soft start feature is amazing, the tool doesn’t even move as it starts up in your hand.

Works well!
It is the first trim router I've owned, and I was concerned the low price was going to impact performance. I'm glad to say it works just fine. It is very well made and easy to use. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it is, especially for a tool that is not known for quiet operation. This router has all the features that you want in a handheld router. I only work on wood projects on occasion and only need a light router to be able to make dados and rabbets on shelving projects. The router and bits were hot but never stopped working. Cheap tools are good for something things but if you want the best to get this one.

Better than DeWalt 611
The media could not be loaded. I bought a DeWalt 611 for use on my cnc router it was a huge disappointment in every way. Loud as hell speed controller started to go on my 3 project and just went down hill from there. This thing is better in every way for half the price and it comes with a spare set of brushes and 1/4 " 3/8" collet. It's much quieter with less vibration and from what I can see from using both this has more power. I've already done more work with this one than the DeWalt. I'll be another when the time comes no questions asked.

Not worth it.
I thought that this would be a nice router. I was wrong. Not only is it VERY loud but it vibrated like crazy and would loose it's depth setting. The clamp to hold its setting does not hold even when tightened up. I noticed it would change its speed setting during use as well. It has the feeling of a good build but shows its true colors as soon as you turn it on. My hands actually grew numb from trying to use it. I ordered this too soon before I actually needed it. When I finally got around to using it I had missed my chance to return it. Lesson learned for me. Spend a little more on a better option. This one is a waste of money in my opinion.

The jury is still out on this one . . .
The price was to good to pass up! Well, maybe I should have ( the jury is still out on this one). I needed a small one handed router to finish up some Christmas presents that I was working on, when I found this on Amazon, I couldn't go wrong. Thanks to Amazon, I got it with time to spare. This is where I started to get concerned, when I took it out of the box and saw the free set of brushes, the type of brushes that are an important part of the motor ! If the company gives you an extra set of brushes, to me that means, the first set are junk and if you want to use this item for a reasonable amount of time, you're gonna have to repair it at some point ! That's a red flag to me and that's why the jury's still out on this one, that and the sound the motor makes when it's running ! Maybe that sound is just the sound these extra small routers make, I don't know. But that AND the extra sets of brushes has my spidy sence going off ! So, I'm not done with this review, I'll be back periodically to update this page on how well this lil' router does as I put it thru it's paces .

Great compact router.
I purchased this router for working on solid body electric guitars as a hobby. I wanted something small for slow, detailed work and this tool works just great. The depth adjustment clamp is a little loose and can take a little getting used to in order for the clamp to properly engage. It clamps just fine even if it is off a little, but I don't want to bend the linkage, so I have to be sure that the clamp cams are seated properly when locking it down.
