Absolute powerhouse of a product-- I'm never going back
After trying Smith's Rosebud Salve (don't be fooled by similar-looking tins from C.O. Bigelow! They are vastly different products!) I am NEVER going back to lip balms and what you will. I've been steadily chipping away at my tin of Rosebud Salve for a little over a year now and there's still so much left to go.This thing packs a punch while still being gentle and delicate. The smell is super delicate and fragrant without smelling like your old relatives' perfume. The balm doesn't feel greasy to the touch when applied and my lips feel so soft and moisturized afterwards! And they STAY soft and moisturized for hours!I've never used a lip balm that didn't irritate my lips or make me break out in hives altogether until Smith's. The best part is that, this little tin is not just balm but a salve and it is a godsend for small scratches, dry cuticles, and all around moisture in a pinch. I cannot recommend this product enough. In fact, I still have half a tin left to go (so maybe another year's worth of use) and I'm already committed to buying a couple more tins so that I never have to go without it.

The best!! Rosebud has been around for 128 years
The media could not be loaded. ****YOU REALLY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CUT OPEN TIN TO OPEN PRODUCT. I HAVE BEEN OPENING IT SINCE I WAS 5 y.o. Twist and pull top off at same time. If tin is oily on outside wash tin with detergent (while closed) with warm water to be able to twist and turn after towel drying it. . **** if arrives melted bc of heat in summer just place tin on candle warmer to melt it in tin then let sit and cool. I love my rosebud salve.I am so happy to have some Rosebud Salve. My grandmother use to order this out of the TV guide or Guiding post magazine when I was a kid. She ordered a box at a time with probably 6 tins at a time. She always had a can some where near her body. I didn't even know it still existed. She used it ALL the time on lips, hands, face, arms, or legs and us grand kids. Chapped lips, diaper rash and all things in between. On cuts, scrapes or insect bites. She was born in 1901 and I know she used it most of her life. I have spoken of it often over the years and no one ever knew what I was talking about. Then I searched it and my heart filled with joy and fond memories. I LOVE IT!!!!. It is not hard to open just twist and turn at the same time. Buy this product it is thinner than vaseline and YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. I will be ordering more to give as gifts now I know this gem still exist. Dry hands and lips no more. It is safe to use around the eyes also. Give it a try. I remember it use to be very cheap and I see it now has a "cult" type following so the price has increased but the product is good and American made.

This product is perfect for me
I have very, very dry lips. I am Celiac and have celiac lip: constant peeling and cracking of the lower lip. This lip balm does not tout itself as anything but what it is. I smells nice, of course. This is finger application and is formulated to stay where it is put. It doesn't melt and run. The balm soothes my lips, helps to heal and by everyday use, has cut down on the peeling. I've used other lip balms, lipstick and gloss pots: nothing is as good as this. And it makes my lips look full with a subtle shine. Love it!

An excellent product, better than other salves I have tried
I love this little tin of lip salve! I am definitely going to rebuy in the future, once I run out. Here is why: first, it is excellent at softening lips. I am someone who pretty much constantly has chapped lips, and I have always been this way. I didn’t expect this product to solve the problem, but it did! My lips are smoother and less chapped than they have been in months. Second, the smell is wonderful. Third, unlike others, I have not encountered any problems with the tin, which I find easy to open. And finally, the product was larger than I expected. I thought it would be about the size of a Burt’s Bees salve, which I have tried in the past, but it is larger and will last me longer. Still, it is small enough to keep in a pocket or purse. Also, the price is fantastic. Will definitely buy again.

and then in the morning my lips are super smooth. It smells really nice
If you don't react well to Vaseline - for some people, it dries out their lips - you may or may not react well to Rosebud Salve. That's the main ingredient. It also includes cottonseed oil and a patented blend of rose oil.But it's worth a try, I think. Vaseline does dry out my lips, but I guess the cottonseed oil and rose oil make up the difference and really works on my lips. However, I can't use it every night, or it does dry out my lips. So I just wait until my lips are already a bit chapped, put it on at night, and then in the morning my lips are super smooth. It smells really nice, but I don't think it tastes particularly good. It's not unpleasant, but tastes mostly like Vaseline. That's the only reason for a 4 star review.I've seen some other people complain about the packaging, but I don't think it's difficult to get the container open at all. It's also super cute.

Moisturizing
Lovely fragrance. Petroleum consistency with a rose fragrance. Great for moisturizing nails and cuticles.

Meh
This product is ok. It’s really not much more than scented Vaseline, and the scent isn’t that great. The scent sort of has two layers. On top it smells like that cheap rose air freshener at the Dollar Tree, but that scent seems to be there to cover up a much less desirable scent underneath, but I can’t pinpoint exactly what it is. I just know I don’t enjoy having it directly under my nose. The product does seem to help when my lips are chapped (no more so than straight Vaseline, though), but I’m not seeing much improvement to my skin when I put it anywhere else. (The backs of my hands get really chapped and it does very little for them.)I also agree with the others complaining about the tin. It’s hard to open. If, for some reason, you need to get back into it when you have the product on your hands, you are SOL.
