I made a few great batches of kombucha with this set. I was able to give a scoby that grew from my starter to my niece. Unfortunately, user error, I grew mold on my scoby. However, I was able to wait a bit and got a new scoby back from my niece (all scobies are still from the original starter scoby in this kit) . Now I’m back to brewing. We have both enjoyed the flavors. It is a great starter set. I felt that this price was reasonable, especially considering the prices that I was seeing for just the jar. The instructions were helpful for newbies. I highly recommend this product. It would definitely make a great gift for someone that is talking about starting to make their own kombucha.

The kit was wonderful. I definitely feel I've got my money's worth. I have had perhaps 5-7 cups of kombucha to enjoy... I figured $3 per cup I'm doing great! I have a baby Scoby growing, too. I'm looking forward to adding a new batch.

If i had known kombucha was this easy to make i would have started doing it decades ago. This is a great starter pack that includes everything you need to to start your journey. My only complaint is that they don't tell you how much fun it is and how much better home made kombucha tastes. I started with this set a month ago and now I've got 4 different batches going at a time just to try and keep up with my kombucha cravings.

Received kit in the mail.Initial impression, nice packaging, all pieces accounted for. Instructions included, seems to be rather straight forward.Will be my first experience with kombucha, but i normally homebrew beer so hopefully not much more difficult.I've heard this stuff is supposed to be good for your "gut." Well well, that's good news because I have a rather prominent belly. Any other health benefits I have yet to research, but hopes are high at this point.Will send an update to this review once product is harvested, consumed, and any noticeable differences documented.Update #1: Followed the included instructions, very simple and easy to understand.Batch is currently in a shady corner of the kitchen. Loved how simple the instructions were, especially as a first time kombucha brewer! Our mother scoby spent day 2-4 at the bottom of jar, but floated up just in time for the new baby scoby to begin forming! The complete kit comes with enough black tea bags for two fermentations :)

Brewed my first batch of kombucha. Perfect results. I used the kit and directions as written. Everything you need is in the kit including the pellicle and plenty of starter SCOBY liquid's. There are clear directions for each step. The mix of green and black teas is a good flavor profile. I successfully made two batches of kombucha and used the original pellicle in fruit leather once the new pellicle was formed. Now I have another batch brewing.
