Miracle in a bottle!
My baby went through countless formula changes, gas medications, bicycle kicks, tummy massages, & missed naps due to inconsolable crying & tummy troubles... at least until we tried this. Happy baby & happy mom! Will be repurchasing again & again.

Went from Colic Hell to Zen
If you’re reading this review, it’s probably because your loved one is dealing with colic.Let me start by saying Colic really, really, reallly sucks. Our son (who is now 2 years old) was colicky and would hardly ever sleep on his back even during the day. He had bad reflux and struggled to gain weight since he was spitting up so much. We tried pepcid at the recommendation of a pediatric GI and he still didn’t sleep great and we think it led to his weight percentile dropping off a cliff (his weight percentile went back up after we stopped). With our second child, who is now one month old, we promised ourselves we wouldn’t put her through the same misery our son went through. When she started showing the same signs of colic our son had (didn’t want to be on her back, would cry nonstop from 8PM - 1AM, poops would be a struggle and kinda green), I knew we had try something. I did a ton of research, we started expensive probiotics like Evivo ($250 and was very bad for us) and got our breast milk tested by Lactation Lab ($100, highly recommend). It turns out, our breast milk was pretty high in lactose and slightly low in fat. I suspected our daughter was suffering from lactose overload The active ingredient in Colief? Yep, lactase. It was no surprise within 2 days of starting Colief (4 drops each feeding), she actually slept through her daily ‘witching hour’. To be fair, not every night is perfect but the baseline is soooo much better than before. She is currently sleeping next to me as I wrote this review (it’s been 4 hours), and her weight is gain has been above average. She sleeps so well that we’ve had to wake her up to feed after 5 hours sometimes.TLDR; get breast milk tested for lactose. if it’s above normal, Colief just might do the trick. If you’re on formula, worth trying since most formulas have lactose.

Love the item but currently incorrectly priced
This item is listed incorrectly with an incorrect description and incorrectly priced. The 3 pack is NOT 1.5 oz/15 ml per bottle, those are the 7 ml bottles. I purchased it around 8 times for my twins thinking it was the 1.5 oz as listed in the description. The picture shows 7 ml though and that's what you actually receive. So it is cheaper and lasts longer if you just purchase the 1.5 oz individually rather than the 3 pack which has you pay more for less.

May be useful for EBF babies; not as effective as lactose-sensitivity formula
I'm not really sure that I noticed any appreciable difference using this product, but every baby is different. Mine had awful gas/colic and constipation for the first 7-8 weeks. We tried everything, including Simethicone gas drops in every bottle, Culturelle, gripe water, Dr. Brown's gripe belt, Windi straws, bicycle kicks, and Gentlease formula. Nothing helped. We couldn't be sure whether or not baby had a lactose intolerance, but we gave this a try anyway. I had low supply and was supplementing, so I added it to both my breast milk and his Gentlease until we ran out (at which point I switched to an actual lactose sensitivity formula, which really did seem to help, but the Colief alone did not).I didn't ask my pediatrician if it was okay to use this, though she did tell me it was okay to use probiotics, and since lactase is a natural enzyme, I felt comfortable using it. Reviewers complaining about how quickly it expires -- again, it's a natural enzyme that breaks down over time. That's just the way it is. Write the expiration date on your bottle and toss it when that day comes. Not worth taking any chances with your baby.As with all things when it comes to colic, it's hard to pinpoint whether any solution is actually effective other than time. For me, Colief was not the miracle cure that some reviewers claimed, but then neither was Culturelle. I can say what did seem to help my newborn was switching to an actual lactose-sensitivity formula. I understand this is not a helpful solution for EBF babies with colic, so I say you have nothing to lose by trying this. My baby eventually grew out of his colic around 7-8 weeks, but I still use the generic Sam's Club version of Similac Pro-sensitive and he rarely has troubles with gas anymore (he's 10 weeks now).Hang in there! Colic doesn't last forever.

Useless but also harmless.
This product did nothing for my formula fed baby's colic or gas discomfort. It didn't seem to hurt my baby, but it certainly didn't help. Instructions are tedious-- even with careful planning, mixed formula only lasts so long. The instructions suggest that this product be mixed with formula or breast milk and allowed to sit for 30 minutes before feeding to baby. When you have a growing and hungry baby that suddenly needs more milk than usual at a feeding, this is extremely inconvenient. I already don't enjoy having to feed my infant formula and all that goes with it, but I imagine that preparing a bottle with a crying infant in tow and then waiting 30 minutes to feed it to them is simply not an option for many parents.I ended up buying a Doctor Brown's formula pitcher(indispensable for any formula fed baby) here on Amazon and preparing formula with this product so as to be better prepared. We still use the pitcher, but this product ended up in the garbage. Complete waste of money. My baby's colic luckily passed with time, but we'll be sticking to a probiotic to keep her tummy in order going forward!
