I received the embroidery kit quickly , faster than I expected . The kit contains a range of colors , all neatly winded on a card . I measured one of them : 9 and a half meters . The normal DMC embroidery that I usually buy in the shop is 8 meters . I then did the ' bleeding ' test : I cooked some clean water and dropped a length of red floss in it . I let it boil a bit , then put it on a clean white cloth . After it was dry I lifted it : no bleeding on the cloth . I still need to do the washing machine test ,( with some embroidery on white cloth ) but for now I'm over the moon with the result . Value for money ? Absolutely . A hundred colors for the price of six from the shop : that is good value in my book . Of course, you can't choose your colors . Some are not in the box for the project I have in mind . I wonder if there are ' themed ' boxes to be had , like all kinds of green with some yellow , white and back . Or all blues and so on . I would definitely buy those . There are also beads and ribbons in the box , but I don't need those for this project , maybe I'll be glad of those later . I'll be buying more of these boxes , I think .

I'm just getting into cross stitching, so this was the perfect kit to get started quickly and try it out. It comes with all of the thread wound on the bobbins which is so helpful, and enough needles and extras that I didn't need to buy anything else besides my fabric and a hoop. The thread itself seems to be decent quality since I haven't had any tangling or fraying issues while working with it so far. Thanks!

I am so glad I purchased this box. I decided to try hand embroidery, but had none of the supplies. This box comes with 100 beautiful colors, needles, threaders and a cutter. The only other things you will need are hoops and fabric. A great value for money. Definitely recommend!

I am happy with this product overall, but I realize now I didn't read the fine print and it's not genuine DMC floss. It's semantics, but the product name says "DMC color" not "DMC brand." This is even explained by the seller in the Q&A section. Then if you scroll down to the product description it says, "Each floss has a silky appearance made of cotton polyester..." That right there also tells you it's not genuine DMC, because DMC six-strand floss is 100% long staple cotton.That being said, I bought this kit to resume the hobby of making friendship bracelets after a good 25 year hiatus. I've made several bracelets exclusively from it and they came out beautifully. It was only when I went to replenish some of the colors and I ordered individual skeins directly from DMC that I realized a difference. The colors ARE a good match, and the numbers printed on the bobbins in this kit correspond to the same colors of DMC. But what really lead me to investigate further was that the texture seemed very different. The floss in this kit is more soft and plush. DMC is more crisp. I tried to photograph this but the sensor on my phone camera is not really able to pick it up. In person it's quite apparent though.I am curious to see how bracelets knotted with genuine DMC will differ. The ones made from this kit came out quite stretchy - stretchier than I remember when I used to make bracelets as a kid. I suspect the 100% cotton DMC won't have as much give. So I think that will be the telltale difference. And because of this I'm not sure I'll be able to mix the two brands. I will update this review if I gain any new insights into that.The reasons for four stars are 1. The way they use DMC in the product name is misleading. 2. The storage case is not that sturdy. The lid comes off its hinges all the time. And also, because of the modular construction (to make the inside compartments adjustable) it will not fit one of those bobbin winder (crank) gadgets that are designed to slide onto regular thread storage cases. Even on the outside edges, there is a ridge that runs all the way around the case that prevents the use of one of those.

I like the variety of colors of the floss. It all came neatly in the case that was provided. Along with the embroidery floss there was ribbon, scissors, embroidery needles, plastic reusable embroidery bobbins, needle threaders, seam ripper, replacement blades for the scissors, 2 thimbles, safety pins and an assortment of beads. I only got two of the promised 5 needle threaders though. Which was not a deal breaker. I'm overall satisfied and would recommend the product to potential buyers of embroidery kits.

I only recently found out what darning your socks actually means (i.e. filling in the material over the hole) and this has pretty much everything I need to do it properly. The soft darning thread is really nice and soft and feels good when wearing my repaired socks. Haven't made any bracelets or done any embroidery patterns yet but who knows, I'll definitely now give it a whirl now that I'm properly equipped to do it in three first place.Says it's a beginner's set and as a beginner I am definitely satisfied with it. Worth the price.

I was on a boat (on a river) for 6 days and wanted to take an embroidery kit with me and this was PERFECT! A plentiful amount of colours to use, well presented, easy to open - LOVE IT, except it's not DMC thread. It is inferior floss that fluffs (say that fast three times :). HOWEVER I spent the six days using it. I will NOT (under any circumstances) wash or get it wet as I had a minor spillage on the boat and there was substantial colour run on a paper towel.Would I buy it again for the purpose I used it for, yes.would I buy it as a gift, no, I would feel bad giving someone fluffy floss.

I like the variety of colors which are wrapped around cardboard spindles. The threads are organized in a plastic box with compartments; it is reusable. I think one has to be careful to make sure the hinges do not break. I am very pleased with this purchase. It is an excellent gift for someone who enjoys doing needlework.
