Easy snack, good flavor
Easy to cook and great taste. I wish the instructions came with a time for cooking, but I did high heat until boiling, then medium low for about 5-7min and it came out great. The spice has a slow onset but it fades after a while. It's not super sweet and it's got a tang to it.

the onion butter is where it’s at!
the onion butter flavor of this is stellar esp if you don’t have a huge palate for spicy food. it’s a little sweet, but it’s also savory and the combination of flavors is so good. cook the sauce down til it’s pretty thick and coats the rice cakes well, it’s way better this way that leaving it thin and soupy. 10/10 for a quick lunch that takes little effort.

Taste good. Easy to make. Intermediate spice level.
I've been going around amazon trying different easy tteokbokki kits. I'm not Korean, I'm not chef, but I have tried tteokbokki in korean restaurants and have made a batch from scratch before. For this, I made the kit by itself without any additives (chives, egg, etc) so I could taste the flavor first. This kit was easy to make and the directions were simple. The sauce was odd in my opinion, but I'm the wrong person to judge it. Here were my observations:The sauce thickened and had a flavor profile that reminded me of ketchup. Of course, there were some hints of gojuchang and chili powder, which gave it a nice intermediate spice. Unlike other kits I tried, when boiled this sauce had the consistency of a thick stew (like tomato paste / chef boyardee microwave pasta). As a result, the sauce was a bit more watery than I expected. Other kits I tried had sauces that were a bit more stickier like a sugary syrup with a stronger gojuchang flavor profile... so I suppose all of this depends on your preference.Overall, the tteokbokki was tasty! I ate it all. For those searching for tteokbokki, if you want to have a smoother (not sticky) sauce with stronger tomato flavoring and intermediate spice, this is your pick.

Kids loved
Kids loved it. Not too spicy, texture pretty good considering it’s from Amazon. :)

Still spicy for me.
The taste & texture were great, except I am not used to this type of mild spiciness. Wish there could be one without any spice.

Tasty but a little thick.
I don't really have any complaints about this product except for the fact there's not more. The recommended amount of water on the package yields a thick and kind of sticky sauce on the rice cakes/"noodles". I added just a little more water for a bit of a thinner sauce that still clung to the "noodles".If you've never eaten the kind of rice cakes you find in tteokbokki, they've got a bit of a chewy noodle kind of texture. Softer than a Tootsie roll, but slightly chewier than a pasta noodle. They're super tasty. The "spicy factor" on a scale of 1 to 10 for me is probably about a 4. It's not terribly spicy but it does have a bit of a kick. That being said, I like spicy food and have a pretty high tolerance for spicy things. The seasoning/sauce is pretty mild. It'll clear your sinuses but it won't set your mouth on fire, if that makes sense.

Mildly Spicy is A Stretch!
This stuff has delayed heat which makes it fun to eat. Unfortunately, we had an uneven amount of spicy level in my box. One pack was like super spicy that my mom couldn't take it, but the other one was mess spicy and my mom enjoyed it. So, Have fun eating this. It is definitely good to eat these when korean places is not an option to go to eat these. Yummy!
