Classic Accessories Hickory Heavy Duty Fire Pit Cover Large/Tan/Round

We purchased this cover to keep the rain out of our newly constructed fire pit burner assembly. It is really nicely made with heavy material, it looks great, and it has a very strong elastic band around the perimeter to keep it in place even during really high winds. The two negatives, I found, are really a problem with this type of cover rather than this specific item. One is water collection. With our stone fire pit not having a dome of any type, I tried placing a small box on top of the lava rock to keep the center of the cover raised so that rain water would not make a small swimming pool on the cover, and this worked fairly well. However, at the end of an evening involving rum punch around the fire, I found I really didn't feel much like going back down to the patio after a half hour to put the cover on... the half hour allowing enough time so as not to risk igniting the box or the cover on hot lava rocks. Neither of these issues detracts from my 5-star rating, however, as neither should have come as a surprise. In the end, I decided to make a cover: I had a 42" diameter circle made from 1/8" thick aluminum sheet, I painted it bronze, added two stainless handles, and neatly applied some soft weather stripping just inside the perimeter on the bottom side. It rejects rain water extremely well (and currently 10" of snow), I can easily remove it and lean it against the house when we're using the fire pit, and I can place it back onto the hot fire pit in about 10 seconds, without significantly challenging my coordination after that rum punch. However, if a flexible canvas cover is what you need, the Classic Accessories cover is a truly well-made product that I wish I had a good use for!

I am actually using this cover to protect a Weber Ranch Kettle Charcoal Grill, which is huge and very expensive. The cover secures tightly and protects well against rain and snow. I have purchased outdoor furniture covers in the past that felt like paper, and these have shredded or worn through very quickly. The "Hickory" cover is more expensive, but the fabric definitely feels durable and substantial. It's also ventilated to prevent mold and mildew growth and it's even reasonably attractive. I also purchased matching covers for an outdoor chaise and a chair. If these covers endure at least four winter seasons, I will revisit this review and add a star. I live in Northern Virginia, so the winters usually aren't too harsh and snow is rare, but night time temperatures often dip into the 20s and occasionally the teens, and we get a fair amount of ice and freezing rain. After two months (originally installed November, 2014), so far, so good.

Not sure if 3 years is good or bad, but it was used in Michigan and exposed to the elements every day. Will try a different brand and have something to compare it to.

I purchased this as a replacement for a competitive product that lasted two years. We live in Texas where the summer sun can be brutally hot for a few weeks, and temperatures in the summer average in the 90s. This product was purchased to cover a 60 inch stone fire pit, which it did. The fabric looks and feels durable, and the elastic gathering points secure the cover under the fire pit lip well enough to prohibit any release in the wind. It appears to be water resistant, which is all we need. Overall, the quality of the construction, materials, and appearance meet my expectations for the price. Time will tell whether it will last 2-3 years as expected. At this point, I would recommend the product.

The cover is very sturdy and seems of good quality, but the size is very misleading. We have a fire pit that is a little under 44". I ordered the 60" cover as I read it ran small, but I cannot believe how small. The cover goes over the top of my fire pit and down the sides about 10". It does not even go to the ground and yet, this cover was supposed to fit fire pits as much as 16" bigger than ours.

They sent the wrong size and quickly corrected the situation for me. The product is high quality and very durable. I just purchased a nice fire ring/ open grill and wanted a cover for it to protect while not in use. The hot, humid ,wet summers here in Houston can destroy any outdoor equipment in a hurry. I appreciate their quick response and got the right size to me sooner not later .Scott Ostrander

This is the best Fire Pit cover that I have ever purchased. I bought it two years ago and it is still going strong through tough winters , hasn't blown off in the 50 + wind storms and has held up to summer sun.No rips or tears just faded a little, I also bought the Grill Cover both well made. Feels and looks high quality a lot of compliments on both.

Bought a second one after the first arrived. Rubber bottom. Straps. Well built product at a great price. Looks beautiful. It's one of those Amazon products you stumble across and can't believe how lucky you got.

We bought quite a big fire pit on here, with a ring around it & a high dome, so this cover fits really well! Lots of heavy rain & wind and this cover is this on!!! No problems with rain going through it, the pit is still dry! ;) Love it and it looks great!!! :)

I purchased this to go with the Shinerich Industrial Four Seasons SRFP97C Courtyard Wood Burning Fire Pit since many reviews indicated that the cover easily rusted with rain. It covers that pit entirely. Good quality material.

This fire pit cover is well constructed and fit my concrete pit perfectly. So far it has stood up to rain and high winds but has yet to weather a Canadian winter. I will withhold final judgement until spring as a result. I have a good feeling it will fare well!

Great quality cover. The fabric was quite thick and I think will make it through the winter well. We ended up ordering the large cover for our 44" firepit due to reviews indicating the fit was sometimes too small. I think we could have gotten away with the smaller size however.
