Paperback Sudoku
I'm so glad they still make Sudoku books on paper. Will Shorts is my favorite programmer. His puzzles are always a challenge

Great for more advanced
I was doing Sudoku on the apps and NY Times, and wanted to transition from my phone/screen to a paper copy. I got the Tame book and this book, thinking it would be fun to mix up the levels. I am too much of a newb to do this devious book! It was way, way too hard! But, I gave it to my friend who I found out likes hard ones, and she is obsessed with it! She said that they are hard, but she really enjoys it!

A book containing many delightful Sudoku problems waiting for being solved
Now 6 years has past by since I became interested in solving Sudoku problems, and this was coursed by the Danish Engineering magazine then having a 2 sides writing about the Sudoku. And there it was stated that the Sudoku then actual was the best for training for the brain. So since then I have solved at least 5.000 Sudoku cases, nearly all of these having the 9 square size, and either from books or newspapers. And all put in the Excel in the PC, for thereby not damaging the books, and so that the books can be used aging after a couple of years. And then I after that can compare the solvings in the 2 files for the same book, to see if I during time have become smarter in solving the Sudoku problems.I until now have bought around 30 Sudoku books, of which 8 from Will Shorts, and to me it looks like the "Devious Sudoku" is the best which I yet have got.Sudoku problems are delightful for relaxing, but still I also are searching after books containing extremely difficult Sudoku problems, like the examples which 6 years ago was shown in the Engineering magazine.

Very Strong but not Too Strong!
If you, like me, find newspaper puzzles boringly simple, the Will Shortz books are nicely done and fairly consistently rated. His collections run from mixed collections to medium to hard, to very hard. If you are a master of this stuff, there are more difficult Sudoku books available but Shortz works for me. This collection consists of what he calls "Beware, very Challenging" and Mind-melting". So they are harder than many of his hard collections. I find them just right, puzzling but generally solvable. I also like the fact that they are in a good size format and printed on quality paper, so that the an HB pencil mark shows up.

Devious Sudoku challenger
I am looking for challenging sudoku puzzles even perhaps using some advanced techniques. Most of there puzzles are as devious as possible without using any advanced techniques, such as xwing, simple coloring, etc. They all use a similar style with hidden singles, hidden naked pairs, and a lot of naked triples that gradually reduce the possibilities, resulting in a difficult ongoing process until the puzzles are almost solved. I've reached the last 2 dozen and they have even become more difficult, one requiring an xwing so far.
