Divorce Care: Hope, Help, and Healing During and After Your Divorce Paperback – January 1, 2006

I am not done reading it completely yet but I have read most of it, enough to give a review and I am so glad I purchased this book when my husband left me. If you are a christian, it helps you so much to get through this horrible ordeal! Nothing anyone can say can make a divorce go any easier, especially when there are kids involved, but this book surely does help me a lot. There is a devotional for everyday and a prayer at the end of everyone. Has actual verses from the bible to help your mind get through what your heart is going through, from a Christian perspective. It goes through all of the phases of divorce, of the feelings you go through. I bought 3 other books and this one is the best one. It is the one that when I am finding myself having a hard day, etc I run to this book to help me. I pray for anyone else going through a divorce, it is so hard. B/c if you are a Christian you know that you did not get married to get divorced, but this book DOES help.

This book is great for those facing a separation/and/or divorce. It is a supplemental book to the series from the support group by Divorce Care. I recommend taking the classes for Divorce Care as well which includes a support group, video about the topics in this book and the homework workbook to get the most out of it. It truly brings healing. I got through the pain and suffering of my divorce, especially when one losses their Christian marriage and they don't understand the "why's". It refocuses us back to God and you are able to learn not just the faults of your mate, but yours as well that contribute to the break-up of the marriage. This book is a great supplement to the group if you join the support group. This is a devotional book with a topic of the day you may be facing, a scripture, explanation of what you may be facing and a prayer to go with the topic. I recommend this book.

I wish I would have gotten this book a lot sooner. I ended up not picking this up until about 1 year after my wife left me. It has so many sections to help you through the grieving process, how to deal with anger and depression, loneliness and how to be whole in Christ. DON'T WAIT TO GET THIS BOOK!!!!!

After actually purchasing several other books, I stumbled upon this one. This book was a "life saver" in a storm of despair! The most important aspect about this book is that it is not a "read from cover to back" book. It is a reference book with relevant sections to what a person is likely to face as they battle the turmoil of divorce. And with advice from so many experts on so many topics, it is actually a book of life lessons. I have since sent copies to friends in need and they agreed.

A very beautiful book (the one I received had a difference cover but I'm pretty sure it's the same version). After my husband asked for a divorce two weeks before Christmas I was grasping for anything for help. It's a lot of encouraging words and messages, things you could find online but with a devotional twist makes it more unique. My divorce process is still very new and it may only be a tiny step but it IS one. God seems like the best place to turn and the guidance is great.

This book had insight on all areas that I have been struggling with. Made me see how important it is to connect with other people who are going through the same things that I am. I was thinking that my situation was all my own, but no! Others are having the same thoughts and feelings as I am. I am a Christian and staying involved in my church, going to a Christian counselor, trying to stay connected with my spouse, reading my Bible daily, and reading books on divorce have helped immensely. I even read books on the problems my husband has been I hauggling with also. I have been able to have closure only because I feel that I've done absolultely everything I could in my power to save my marrige. Because of this book, I was able to say to God that I give my husband and all his problems to you now. I've done my part. I'm healing more everyday.

I am truly blessed that someone offered me this book. I identify with soo many of the thoughts expressedand the depression I have experienced has been the worst meltdown I have ever experienced in my life. I truly don'trecognize myself. I have read this book everyday for almost 3 months and it (on my fire tablet) along with my bible,my journal, and my daily devotions are with me everyday for peace and emotional management. There is somethingfor every Christian on these pages that you can hold onto to ease your troubled soul. I am trying to make it tothe other side of this rough mountain. I enthusiastically endorse that someone separated read this book. It speaks toyou immediately.

I bought this book for several friends going through separation and /or divorce and every one of them have so appreciated the encouragement it has given. The devotions are spot on they say, and it doesn’t seem to matter what stage of the process you are going through. I would highly recommend it, based on each of my friend’s responses and gratitude for this book.

A definite recommendation for anyone who is going through separation and divorce.
