A good CAT6 box which could have been great
This is a pretty good cat6 outlet which could easily have been made to be great. Unlike many faceplates, this one is in two parts. A metal enclosure with a removable back provides the housing for the cable connections and provides a plate to secure it to the back-box, then a very flimsy plastic faceplate secures to the front with a small screen hidden behind the label insert. The enclosure part is the best part of this outlet. It has two holes for cable entry and the back can be rotated 180 degrees to have the cables coming in from either the left or right side (I assume the vertical box allows top or bottom instead). A tiny screw will lightly clamp your cat 6 cable sheath to complete the shielding. There are holes in the metal front plate on all 4 sides to allow easy fixing to a standard metal electrical backbox. If you have a backbox with screw lugs on all 4 sides it means you can easily use the screws on the sides away from cables to reduce risk of pinching a cable. The IPC cable connections are neatly arranged in two rows (1 row for each port) and are perfectly arranged in colour pairs to allow easy connection with minimum need to untwist pairs. Each row is also labelled with clear TIA568A/B colour labels to help speed installation. The rear cover screws to the main enclosure, but as this is again metal I would say be careful of any connection wires sticking out which could short to the back if not careful. The only downside to this outlet I would say, is the faceplate. This is a two part piece of very thin plastic, consisting of the main square outer and then the central port cover & label. It does make the outlet 'feel' cheaper but it does the job (just make sure the rear is properly level if you want the ports to line up properly). The tiny screw that secures the faceplate certainly doesn't make this feel rugged. If the faceplate was more like most other network (or even electrical) faceplates I would be a lot happier.

Waste of money
Don't waste your money on this. The plastic cover is very flimsy, it fits to the backpanel with a very small screw and it won't fit directly to an electricians backbox. The backpanel is well built and seems the best part of the entire thing but doesn't make up for the bad quality of the plastic front panel and the badly design fittings.I'll have to buy another box and just waste this. The only advantage is the price, but i guess you pay for what you get.
