Dritz 3446 Quilter's Basting Gun with 500 Tacks Blue, 5 inches

I'm a quilter, I use it to stablelize my my designs. This is my second one. No directions came with it ,and the needle is difficult to insert or replace. And it has to be exactly right or could make holes in falbric.

It works well.

I had one for over 24 yrs and loved it for occasional projects. Donated it to a quilt club when I moved. Then I got a surprise grand child. NEEDED another tack gun so bought this blue one. It jammed and shredded most of the tacks. Out of 30-40 I got 6 to work. I know how to use this gun but I did read all the instruction just in case there was a change in operations. Had little problems with the old one. But this one just seems to have an issue with either the needle or the tacks. Guessing the needle has a burr by how it is cutting the tacks. Not worth it to find another needle and not really worth donating it to someone at this point. I do think it is a quality control issue. I love these guns...but NOT this one.

so far so good, however these little basting guns seem to go bad after a year or so... i use them to attach price tags to hand made clothing.thanks

This thing is absolutely useless! Four tacks used. Four tacks that didn't engage, and yes, the gun is loaded right and I'm doing it right. If I could give it less than one star I would. Very disappointed. I'm going to try to send it back.

I was tired of assembling my fabric sandwiches with pins! Work is now faster and easier.

Takes some practice but works really well.

I give this gun three stars, because when it works it's a great time saver and when it doesn't it doesn't save much time.

Tacks break if you try to put them through more than one layer of fabric. Considering it's intended use is to tack 3 layers together, it's rather useless. I will be returning it. Do not waste your money or time on this thing.
