🌧️ Water your garden, not the ground!
The Rain Barrel Soaker Hose is a 50-foot irrigation solution designed specifically for use with rain barrels. It gradually releases water to your plants, ensuring minimal evaporation and maximum hydration, making it ideal for arid climates and summer gardening.

Thinking too good to be true? It’s not. It’s true.
Use this product for my two rain barrels connected to serve a few planters. I thought no way is a a soaker hose really built for rain barrels. But the first second I turned it on worked like a charm and I can tell this was more porous, and it was exactly what I needed. I was previously drilling larger holes in normal soaker hoses. I ran into one issue. When the soaker hose was going up in elevation, the hose is so porous that it did not allow the low pressure from the low level water barrel to go past that ledge. I think it can be easily fixed but just a thought and warning. This is an amazing product though.

Terrible!
Disappointed. Would not buy again. Did not come with a filter screen but not sure it would matter. My rain barrel is in the garden and I fill it with clean water from a hose so no debris gets in the barrel anyway. The soaker hose worked for about a week then water stopped seeping through the hose. A full 55 gallon rain barrel on a platform 2' about the ground should have sufficient pressure. I could tell it stopped seeping because the ground was dry and I filled the rain barrel and the level did not move. I drilled many small holes in the hose (1/16 drill bit) and that worked for another week then stopped. Used a larger drill bit next time and it worked again for a week. The hose is made of a spongy soft rubber that seems to expand and contract with the temperature. When it expands and contracts it seems to self repair the holes I drilled. Anyway, terrible product. I would like a refund.

update...update... It doesn't work worth a hoot 2016
after several months of confusion and frustration and the eventual conclusion that my regular store bought soaker hose was not doing anything at all. I found the info on the internet and this amazon deal was a fair price. delivery was no problem. the hose I received did two have two pin prick holes in it that annoyed me, but rain was coming, so I tested it and it worked great, minus the two pin holes that acted more like a sprinkler hose. and voila, i buried it under the loose mulch and a big storm came, and its working I assume, because the rain barrel has no problem emptying 2015

Works but needs modification.
The hose worked as promised when I first hooked it up. I double checked to see that the filter screen was in place, hooked it up to my 55 gallon rain barrel mounted about 3 ft above the hose, turned on the water and beads of water started forming and dropping down to the ground within a couple of minutes. I noticed after about a week that the water flow rate had dropped off quite a bit but that made sense because the water level in my barrel had dropped. But after about 0.2" of rain, which filled the barrel, the flow hadn't improved. I checked the filter and it was partly plugged up with debris, cleaned it out but didn't really help the flow rate. I was able to improve it a little by taking the end cap off the far end and allowing 2 or 3 gallons of water through the hose. But it appears that the filter screen is too course (holes too big). I'm going to get some cheese cloth and put a layer over the screen to see if that helps. Would I buy it again, yes, but I'd make some mods to the filter before I used it.

Works off my rainbarrels
Three barrels joined together sitting about a foot off the ground gravity feeds this hose. I am not saying it puts out a lot of water but it does exactly what I wanted. I snaked it around the plants in my garden and they look good.

Advertised as a rain barrel low pressure hose but it doesn't work.
Initially there was very little water emerging from this hose. The inlet had a plastic disc with a very small hole to restrict flow. I removed this and flow was much better; it emptied 40 gallons in an hour or so but now it doesn't work at all. Some water initially this morning but none since.

Works as advertised. Excellent hose
I used this hose with the rain barrel timer.Vegetables and herbs grow, so the hose must be working. I trimmed off the last couple feet, moved the end piece, used a 28" non-soaker patch hose, and tied into a second rain barrel soaker hose in a second raised garden bed. I've increased the watering frequency (via the timer) from 1 hour every 8 hours to 1.5 hour of watering every six hours. Lettuce seems to grow better, but my acorn squash got moldy. That's on me for not spraying the squash to prevent mold tho.Adjustable ends are good for making this hose into any length required.

Needs a filter
I thought I had confirmed somehow (I don't remember whether I read it or someone emailed me in response to a question) that this item includes a filter to keep the openings from plugging. It arrived without one. I used one I had on hand and it worked well initially. I was trying to use it to deal with water from a pond that was being siphoned to a row of trees. The pond water was too particle-laden to go through the filter easily, so the flow rate to the trees was too low to be useful, even though there was quite a bit of pressure from the siphon and the filter was cleaned daily. Given the kinds of particles I get coming out of my rain barrels connected to my swimming pool, I am sure that even a rain barrel source would need a filter to keep from clogging up.

At first I thought these hoses were great (I purchased 2)
At first I thought these hoses were great (I purchased 2). However, after a week or so they now will not drain my water barrels very well at all. I'm thinking maybe debris from the roof is clogging the out spout. Antway I have to take the end off the hose to completeley empty the rain barrels, if I leave it on they will only empty to half way. Yes the barrels are raised.
