Spawned from a recipe in the sandhills of Western Oklahoma during the Great Depression, Frances Cowley Gourmet Dill Pickles, have that farm canned flavor. No pickles of this taste have ever been sold in stores before. The only place you could find flavor like this was in a cellar, on the farm. If you were raised on a farm in the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's you may have tasted pickles like these. Folks that were raised in town or in the suburbs have no idea that a pickle can taste this way. For snacking or on hamburgers, or tuna salad, ham salad, chicken salad, deviled eggs, pea salad.. these pickles make great foods even better. LOOK AT THE SPICES AND INGREDIENTS IN THE JAR. THESE AIN'T NO STORE BRAND TASTING PICKLES.

Far too much salt in my batch, but a good pickle otherwise
I don't know if I just got an odd batch or not, but my jar of pickles was so salty I could hardly eat them.I love pickles as a snack as the vinegar also curbs hunger in between meals so I like having different brands, but I have to say that the pucker from these is far more than just from the vinegar. I like a salt and vinegar balance, but the tartness was far too much for me to take.Other than that, I do like them. I like the thickness of the slices that seem hand-cut, as well as the other flavors...we are just having some issues with the saltiness being too great for our liking here. 470 mg is too much. And I think it was actually more than the label read...I had to ditch them.

Taste like granmas homemade pickles
OMG after years and years of buying different brands of pickles in a desperate attempt to find something that could compare to my grandmothers home made pickles I finnaly found these. The taste is almost exactly the same. The only problem is there only sold sliced up in the jar ( no whole or spear version) and are a little softer than normal.

Great pickles, happy I got these.
Excellent pickles. I just got my jar today, and I just had to try one. They are really good. Light vinegar taste without being overpowering, and a bit of spice to them from some peppers but again nothing overpowering. A nice bit of saltiness with a decent dill and slight garlic taste as well. I'm quite pleased with these pickles.Anyway, I suspect I'll be ordering these again when I run out.

Yes, all the reviews are true
Once you try them, they'll pretty much be a staple food for life. I went to Dallas (trucker) and bought two cases. Oh, on sandwiches, hamburgers, chicken, ham...it's just endless how versatile the flavor is. Nuff said.

Wonderfully crispy but very salty
Out of three gourmet kinds I tried this was the best but the salt in my opinion was extremely overwhelming. The crunch is great and as advertised. Unfortunately I could not purchase again.
