Great Portable Door Bell unit
The main unit is lighter than the previous Friedland one I had, which is an advantage, as is the smaller battery requirement. The fact the unit is lighter just makes it easier moving it around with me when I'm expecting a delivery or visitor so I don't miss a call - though the volume is very good and the chime is reasonably long so even in the garden I can usually hear it if I leave it by an open window. It isn't being set off by neighbouring alarms, which had been a problem with cheaper alternatives in my last address which is an enormous benefit of Friedland's door bells. The one rather annoying change from the older version is the fact that in order to silence the bell overnight I have to have the unit half open all the time so I can easily reach the volume control (my previous Friedland unit had an easily accessible switch button on the top to turn the bell on or off).Overall very pleased with it.

They do the job- and are attractive and well
I've bought Friesland doorbells over the last twenty yearsYou might also why as they are substantially more expensive than othersFirstly they don't offer as many features - just a smallSelection of bell sounds But it works- they allow a switch of frequency in the very unlikely situation you set off your neighbours bellsBatteries last wellThe sound quality is great and loud so you can hear throughout a houseYou can easily adjust the volumeYou can add a second bell push for eg a back doorBut for me the key issue is quality. The bell pushes have multiple high quality designs - just make sure to get a Libra plus compatible push as the libra plus (older) don't work with the libra (old system)

A bit pricey for what it is.
It is too plasticy for a £50 item.It is does not give false calls (so far). This item replaces a < £20 doorbell I had which looked a better quality product. However the Friedland has the advantage of not giving false calls.

Poor quality, almost all doorframes seem to stop the signal reaching the bell box
Brilliant idea, easy to use and fit, and has great sound that carries throughout the house. However, after fitting, although the actual bell push, is less than 20 cm away from the box hanging inside our front door, it seems as though our PVC door frame and it’s in a metal is enough to stop the signal, after our last product from this company, we expected much better, however this is rubbish, rarely works, and if I had the box I would’ve sent it back for a refund. Beware of where you place it, and the material Your door frames are made of, as it could easily stop the signal and therefore the bell from working.

?
Bell push was faulty, kept shorting out the battery in a few days. Had to purchase another bell push.

Obsolete and not built like they used to be
I tried to get another of the units that I've used at home for many years, but the new versions are smaller, with a tinnier sound and worst of all out of production so I have to go to eBay for additional bits
