Very happy with it overall
I brought this to a computer festival for some GameCube emulation. Well I did have to install a third-party driver for a macOS 10.15. (I believe it was the Xbox 360 controller driver), once that was done, this worked like a charm.Overall, I would say these are close to an original game game controller, but not 100% perfect. I asked people how it felt, and more experience, GameCube players said “close, but not exact”. I agree: close, but not exact. As far as I’m concerned, it’s close enough, are of good quality, it’s really nice not having to deal with batteries, or wireless controller is going to sleep all the time. I’m very happy I purchased this. I haven’t used it with the switch yet, but I’m hoping this will be perfect for GameCube games when the Switch 2 comes out.Very comparable to the Power A brand. I couldn’t necessarily tell you, which one was which if I wasn’t looking.

It's a very comfortable controller, and awesome for Smash Bros Ultimate.
This controller is slightly bigger than the original Game Cube controller. This is perfect if you have big hands like me. If you were considering the Nintendo Switch Pro controller, you should definitely get this one. Not only is it cheaper, but the quality of this controller is amazing. Because of how this joy stick is designed, it feels like there's grip to it. The buttons and control do not feel cheap at all. I prefer this controller to the original Game Cube Controller, because the top buttons on this controller will allow you to block and grab fairly fast. The Game Cube top buttons take longer to press. This controller will take you a few matches to get used to it, but you will love it. It's very ergonomic. The bottom of the controller has grip, which is made out of the controllers plastic. To me, that's the only negative about the controller, because the grip feels a bit like sand paper. You should get this controller because it is wired, which reduces input lag. Wireless controllers have input lag. The overall quality of this controller is very solid.

Mario Controller has Classic See Through Plastic!
So cool! Works on computer and on switch. Comes with original USB plug in, not USB-C. Plugs into switch TV station on the side where there are 2 USB plugs. Love it! Don’t buy rip offs. Buy the OEM from Nintendo discounted by Hori!!! Super long wire FYI

Quality made.
I have had this controller for a few days now. Its holding up exceptionally well with my vigorous smash ultimate gameplay. It feels excellent in the hands. The buttons and analog sticks feel nice and responsive. I previously used the pdp and power a gamecube controllers. Those did not feel great as the left analog had such a huge range of movement. The hori analogs are nice and compact allowing for quick accurate movement inputs in smash. I highly recommend.

A nice alternative.
I've been using the HORI Nintendo Switch Battle Pad for a little while now, a total of 21 hours of use (Primarily Smash) So far I've not had any issues with buttons sticking or terrible input lag. I only encountered a slight connection issue which was easily solved by replugging into the USB port. On a related note, the cord is a very nice length, you're unlikely to need any more than they give. Durability will need more testing over time, but I've dropped it once and there is a bit of a rattle but nothing important. There are a couple of things to note about the controller that aren't so much complaints, but things one should be aware of. The texture of the controller is a bit jarring at first and as others have pointed about, even rough. Personally, I got used to this and after about five minutes you don't even notice it. However, it isn't exactly pleasant upon the first grip. Another note is that because it's USB the Switch recognizes it as a Pro Controller. This is really odd in some cases because the shoulder buttons are flipped. To elaborate, looking at a GC controller from the face buttons, L & R are on the bottom with zL & zR on the top respectively. On a Switch Pro controller, it's the exact opposite. So games in which you use the bottom trigger buttons can feel really awkward. Depending on the game you can switch the control scheme to have inverted shoulder buttons which will solve that issue, particularly in Smash if you like having the top buttons grab as I do. However not every game will necessarily offer that option and it's important to keep that in mind. You're better off looking at a wired Pro Controller for larger more generalized use. That being said, chances are you're looking at this for Smash or possibly Emulation (It does work on PC, tested Sonic Mania on Steam and with MAME). For that, it's perfectly fine and you even have the luxury of having the camera and home buttons, allowing easier navigation, unlike the regular GC controllers. Not to mention it's still wired, so no worrying about AA batteries like it's 2007.To me, there are enough reasons to pick this up especially with how hard it is to get ahold of the official adapter and regular controllers. Unless you already have a number of GC controllers or really need four plugged in at once, then this is certainly a nice alternative to pick up.

Great Buy
This is the best controller i ever bought. It feel great and has grip texture on it. It's amazing and looks great. I was going to buy one from powerA but my friend has controllers from them and they tend to be defective with the analog stick. This one is perfect.

Pretty Good With Some Slight Flaws
First and foremost, with what I enjoy about the controller. The controller provides an almost exact replica of how the buttons feel on a Nintendo brand one, (at least the buttons on the front of the controller such as the A button, B button, etc.) The control stick and the analog stick both feel good in the hands, but the functionality on the controller is where the positivity starts to wither. I've noticed that the B button on my controller is very hit or miss depending on the way I hit the button. If I don't press the button DIRECTLY in the middle, it simply won't do anything. For the type of games that I play, this can serve to be a rather significant problem. Also, I HATE the ZR and ZL buttons and how they aren't even triggers, more like just extra buttons on top.So in conclusion,The feel of the controller - 4/5The functionality - 3/5The price - 3/5Overall - 3/5
