Brother Innovis A150 Sewing Machine

After many years of just getting on with life, I have finally fulfilled a childhood wish, that of owning and using a sewing machine. Years ago the idea of a man using a sewing machine was almost unthought of, but now, in these enlightened times, it has become normal. I started with my wife's old Brother and realised that I would prefer to have my own one. So I bought a lesser model than this A150 and whilst it did a lot more than my wife's old one, there was something missing. Whilst this A150 was a lot more, you got a lot more. This machine is amazing. The ease of use, especially for a complete beginner like myself, is a wonderful bonus. From the many stitches to the automatic needle threader (amazing) and from the automatic thread cutter to the ability to use it for embroidery, this is a machine that will be used again and again. Indeed after just a couple of weeks I am totally hooked and whilst my 'skills' are still wanting, I am improving all the time. The early series of the Great British Sewing Bee have been well watched and admired and continue to stir me into wanting to do and make more and more. In my 76th year I am delighted to add another string to my bow, especially as sewing has never been so easy and enjoyable. I am happy to highly recommend this machine, especially for a beginner like me. -----UPDATE ----- 28th October - had my sewing machine for 4 months now and loving it more than ever. I admit it felt somewhat daunting at first, it is my first sewing machine, but now I am more than comfortable using it. Have made several things and improving all the time. I can so recommend this machine.

I ordered the Brother A150 after initially trying out a cheaper version with same kind of spec, With little luck. The A150 has a good solid feel and plenty of scope for beginners to intermediate users. I have ordered a running foot to use for heaver materials but this one so far has coped reasonably well without the running foot. Comes with plenty accessories and clear instruction’s. Plenty of online videos too for guidance. I like the Brother brand in sewing machines they make quality machines and you really get what you pay for. If you are looking for a quality Digital machine, at midrange price I would recommend the Brother A150 .

After 20 years of using my old singer machine which worked fine, decided it was time for an upgrade. After lots of research, chose this model. Had to wait 3 mths until it was available but was worth it. I love this sewing machine! Cant believe what it can do. Love the automatic threader (works better than my old one) and the automatic thread cutter. I watched the helpful videos on YouTube explaining how to use, there is lots to learn when moving onto computerised sewing but its not hard once you grasp the basics. Important to use the correct presser foot for different stitches, (I have broken several needles by not changing the presser foot and not having the correct stitch size and tension, but am learning from my mistakes). Has enabled me to fall in love with sewing again during lockdown and has halved the time its taken to achieve good results. It’s not too heavy to lift and comes with a robust cover. Excellent machine.

This replaced my years' old Brother sewing machine. Very quiet & easy to use. Particularly love the one-step needle threader. The only downside is that my machine came with no power cable. I didn't want to return the whole machine, wait for refund, re-order and wait for delivery again (there was no option to get missing parts delivered). I bought a separate power cable instead. Not ideal, hence, 4 stars.

Noticed the 5 star reviews for this machine and so I read the reviews which just amazing. We now have the machine and my wife's smiles tell me that the reviews were spot-on. She's only had it for a couple of days, but already she is so pleased with it - all the automatic features, the setup, the stitching etc. This will be one of our best purchases.

I love this machine. Once you familiarise yourself with the various functions it's a breeze. Touch screen operated and a handy visual card with the numbers of various stitches. Screen tells you what presser foot to use. One button "tie off" for neat start and finish and thread snipped. The automatic needle threader is quick and easy - a blessing for short sighted and shaky fingers. Stitches beautifully even. One step buttonholes couldn't be easier. Too many functions to describe and all easy to use. Worth every penny.

My first machine was a cheap one just to make sure I liked it. Treated myself to this one it’s a rolls Royce in my eyes, it’s quite. I haven’t used everything yet only had it a couple of days. Easy to thread but if you get stuck there is a great video on YouTube to show you. Looking forward to using everything else

This was my first sewing machine and I’ve taught myself to sew using it. I love it so much. When I needed it to be simple, it was simple. All problems were my error and my machine gracefully stayed working despite my ineptitude. When I wanted to push my boundaries, I had a world of really nice options available to me. It comes equipped with everything you need to maintain it. The first time that I broke my needle, I was able to figure out how to fix it so quickly and had everything to hand without buying more bits and waiting extra time to continue my hobby. As a beginner with big ideas, I couldn’t recommend this sewing machine enough. I don’t regret a single penny spent on it and I don’t see myself wanting or needing to buy a ‘better’ one in the future. If you’re looking for a reliable and exciting sewing machine and you can stretch to afford it, I think you’ll love it just as much as I do.

This machine is wonderful, I have been using sewing machines since I was young, and I recently had a major breakdown with my last one, and I was lucky enough to spot this at a good price. The stitch selection/variety is just right, it runs smoothly, and the machine does NOT bounce around on the table when it is running at full speed. The automatic needle threader and automatic thread cutter have made my life MUCH easier, neater, and less thread waste!
