Normally Awesome, But These Are Cheap & Won’t Snap Shut!!
These traps are amazing. HOWEVER, the recent 3 that I bought are not like my previous sale traps. Victor must have changed material. With my previous Out of Sight traps, there was no way I could use one hand to squeeze the top hinges together to set the trap. These 3 that I just received, I can squeeze the top hinges together with just one hand. I set it in the ground and it went off. However, because the spring is not tight or strong, the ground kept the jaws from clamping together...the ground kept the jaws apart. How the hell are you going to trap a mole if the ground is strong enough to keep the jaws from closing? My other Victor Out of Sight traps snapped shut in the same location with the same ground. So it appears I was sent crap mole traps. Very disappointed with these, as they are normally the best traps made. But these, I wish I could get a refund as I feel cheated.

Not good for voles!
These were listed to trap moles or voles. Unfortunately my voles avoided these traps like the plague. I even tried bait. Once you figure out how to set them (not easy for me) I moved them several times. Placing them in active tunnels. I did not trap a single vole in 3 weeks. A week ago I baited 6 cheap mousetraps & placed 3 each under a garbage can near vole holes. Viola! The nest day, 6 dead voles! A day later, 5 more! You get the picture. These may work better for moles but if voles are your problem save your money.

Tunnels must be active. Time will tell.
Be prepared to spend some time setting these suckers. (Or should I say TRYING to set them!? Yikes!) The Included setting tools ain’t a lotta help either, IMO. The springs In these traps are so...stout...that In the process of setting the last trap of the 3, the trigger pin actually bent- rendering the trap unusable. So now at least I have 2 traps set and positioned as instructed on the property. 3 days so far and no moles yet but I don’t doubt their effectiveness relative to other available methods. I’ll give it another 2 days then reposition them as necessary.

Best Mole Trap
This mole trap worked great. I bought two types, the spear one and this bear trap one. The spear one took 30 mins to set, this bear trap one took half the time. YouTube has great videos on how to set. I caught that pesky mole the next day. I took less than 24 hrs. Crushed him.

Cheapened construction
Mfg. cheapened the product as compared to the same trap I bought several years ago. Spring is weaker and trap material is much lighter in construction. Plus, the price is much higher!

Moles are scared of the boxez.
They worked so good they are still in the box. The moles disappeared as soon as the boxes arrived. So we actually never had to set them up.
