Worked great for my needs!
I recently used this to dig out a little area in my nightstand to install a qi charger and this fit the bill perfectly and had no issues. If I could gripe about one thing, it would probably be that the little opening on the sides suck to loosen and tighten the blades. I found myself reaching in with a needle nose half the time. I don't really have a workshop, since I live in an apartment. So I didn't clamp anything down, just threw on some safety googles and held that sucker down with my knee and went to town on it with this router and it did great! If you do plan on cutting out a large hole, like larger than the diameter of the base of the router, be very careful and put more weight on the edges that actually have support. I almost made the mistake of not doing that and almost ruined my project with a hole right through the board. Cleanup was pretty easy also, kept the dust pretty minimal for the amount of cutting shown in the pictures. Getting dust out of the equipment was rather easy too, obviously it's going to get into some areas that's a little trickier to get into. I know "experts" and "professionals" all hate on the black and decker brand, but I've had no issues for using it over 3-4 years so far. Except with their sander attachment, that thing was not built well at all.

Works great, better than buying a whole new tool!
My husband has been wanting one of these for awhile now and the price couldn't be beat. Now, this attachment is kind of a necessary for any guy who does home repairs or even like to do projects around the home. We purchased this in order to finish of a tile job in our kitchen and since then, we have also ended up using this on a chair, our bathroom and his workshop setup. The uses are kind of limitless and it gets rid of the need for multiple tools by having this attachment. It actually took quite a long time for it to arrive, so I would say to order well ahead of time so your not waiting. It's been a good quality piece for us and hasn't given us any problems. It gets the job done, and does it quickly.

Good alternative to more expensive routers
Decent alternative to larger portable routers. It is a great addition to my Black and Decker Matrix tool. One of many additional attachments. Love it!

The Black & Decker Matrix series is great for small DIY projects and home maintenance tasks
The Black & Decker Matrix series is great for small DIY projects and home maintenance tasks. One cordless tool that is very well priced to do a multitude of jobs. If you plan on building cabinets, this is not the tool for you, get a stand alone router. But for smaller project, this performs nicely (assuming you have the 20v version of the drill, most reviewers have found that the lower voltage version isn't powerful enough). Great buy, helps give me more tools while taking up less storage space. The only issue is that it feels a bit awkward changing the bit, not difficult, just awkward.

Great for smaller jobs!
Love it so much! I use it all the time. I've used it of everything from adding decorative finishes to normal wood to doing the edges of my laminate countertop. It does suck up a lot of battery juice so, it is definitely limited by battery life -if you're using it with a Matrix drill like mine (I have a 20V battery), it lasts for a while with normal wood... but it took me 3 days to do my laminate countertop because I needed to recharge it after about 10 mins use every time. Obviously it doesn't work as well as a router-only instrument, but I was surprised by it's ability to tackle the laminate (even though it took a couple of passes, that stuff is very tough!) If you're looking for something to tackle big projects, I would recommend getting an actual router... but for the convenience of the Matrix system, this is awesome!

Fine for light trim work on soft materials.
Of all the Matrix attachments I've purchased, I was most excited for the router, and the most disappointed by it. It's fine for light trim work/edging, particularly with soft woods or materials, however with a complete lack of any edge guides or the like, trying to do a straight route through a harder wood is a nightmare - most likely due to a combination of the high torque of the matrix motor and the low RPM - the router attachment is limited to 9,000 RPM (per the label on the attachment itself) which seems just plain too slow; you can definitely do a "straight" route, but you better have your wood SOLIDLY clamped down and a good two-handed grip on the drill body, because once the bits make contact, it will kick like a mule. Changing bits can also be a pain, as the plastic adjustable shroud seems to be forever at odds with the wrench and collar. I'll hang onto it for niche/quick projects, but will probably end up buying a dedicated router in the future; I can't honestly recommend it to anyone as their only router or a substitute for the real thing.

Great starter
This little trim router was never meant to do heavy lifting. I got this because it was cheap and I knew it was a good intro into routers, (and I had the 20VMAX drill). This little guy has done fantastically as I push it beyond its limits. It'll struggle with harder wood but still cut. The depth adjustment has no guidance on it but that's fine, I just use a tape measure. Changing bits is easy, there are some links on YouTube as to how. But really its the push of a button, the turn off a wrench and is changed. Highly recommend.

A big dispotment as the router bit keeps falling off, making it impossible to use. The small wrench couldn't give a good tight tug, because of router protection.

I had low expectations for this. I was wrong. Used it with 1/4" round over bit for a small job - was very quick to set up and great control with the drill handle. I was routing Oak which is a hard wood and will tend to tear out end grain but I had no issues. Not a high volume tool but it gave me great results with a quick setup time. I have three "real" routers, this got the job done well with less hassle. Might be a little intimidating for those who are new to routers - practice makes perfect. I have all the matrix attachments, and I think this and the trim saw are tied for the best for me. TIP: once you have it running you can let go of the button on the router attachment. Depth of cut adjustment is really good as well.

Useful with my other matrix attachments.
