PerkinKnives - Custom Damascus Handmade Hunting Knife Axe - Forest Axe

This is a beautiful piece of work and a great addition to my collection.

I was looking for an old style hunting axe capable of cutting through thick bone and hide for processing. I saw the dimension offered from the graphics but somehow I thought the item would be slightly larger.This is one of the cases where the buyer (me) didn't initially realize the thought that had went into making this product. The axe edges are razor sharp and the small head is going to be a great force multiplier when it strikes. While playing with it I then realized the care that had be taken in the design and curvature of the handle. There are three distinct places to grab this axe to use as a tool. It can be used full force at the base or handled just below the head for fine work as skinning excess fat from the hide. The axe is easily gripped due to the design of the handle. Fingers flow easily into the channels.I however do not know if the axe is full tang or not. My only complaint is that I wish it weight a pound or two more with more mass towards the base. Currently the item resides in my kitchen.I became quite concerned however when the customs people listed it as a miniature replica. That generally means the item is not meant as a tool but as a show piece.

Pretty upset with this item. I took it camping to use on kindling and it snap with the first strike. I was using it to split some dry pine kindling to smaller pieces. The head of the axe just snapped right at the handle I couldn't believe it, I ended up using my machete to shave the kindling at that point. If this is a sign of the quality its not good!! Unfortunately this was 10 days after the 30 day return policy to top it off. I'm not sure is it a flaw in the design or bad craftsmanship as I have a similar axe I've used for 20 years or so now. Either way be careful.

Way more than I expected for the money.My grandsons loved these AxesWhat an axe for the money. This was a buy of a life time.They were in perfect condition when they arrived.I would recommend this product. Love them and will buy again.
