Nice chapters on sequences and series
The authors style is clear and readable.Chapters 11, 12 and 13 cover sequences and series. The author's explanations of Maclaurin and Taylor series wasoutstanding. The rest of the book is pretty good also. It begins with a review of Calculus I and ends with an introduction to differential equations.

Good book, okay condition
The book has been helpful in understanding more difficult topics. Examples used are relatively simple. Only complaint is the "new" condition it came in, bent pages that stick together occasionally.

Not for someone learning Calculus II concepts
"Calculus II for Dummies" is a very high-level refresher on calculus and calculus II. If you have taken higher level calculus a while ago and want to brush up on calculus, the book is a helpful way to get a quick refresher and point you to concepts that you need to brush up on in more detail. The book itself is fairly straight-forward in presenting material. I do not see it being used to teach the concepts to someone new to the subject matter.I have taken a large amount of calculus during my college year --> up to multivariant calculus for use in relativistic physics modelling. I found the book to hit the high points on the subject, but there is not much in detail to help someone learn the material.I decided to review this book as I was looking for a refresher for my calculus. As a software engineer, winemaker and project manager, I do not have much of a need for calculus anymore but I want to brush up on the subject matter. The book was helpful in reminding me of key things. I used other reference books to get into the details later. The book is a good concept but done at too high of level to be truly useful.

Excellent book to learn the basics of Calculus 2!
I bought this book a few months ago and I was quite impressed. The book is clearly written and is easy to understand like it claims to be. There is also humor from time to time. Some people were complaining that most of the answers to the examples are 1 or 0, this is not entirely true. Some of the examples involving numbers being plugged resulted in 0 or 1, not all of them. The author does this deliberately so it is easy to follow. The book claims to be easy to understand. If all of the answers resulted in ((x^ 7 +4x^3-2x^2-sqrt(x))/ sin(x^3) ), the author would clearly be a liar since this would be difficult to comprehend (this is not the case). I would definitely recommend it to someone who needs a little bit of extra help with Calculus 2 or wants to get a head start and wants to get the basics down before taking the actual class.

Makes Taylor Series and etc. easy
It's not comprehensive and perhaps has fewer examples than a textbook, but it uses human English, not math that happens to be in English. I can learn with this!
