Wonderful!!
I got this watch for my Grandma who has macular degeneration. She loves it! I didn't realize until recently, when my grandpa was in the hospital, that she relies on him to tell her what time it is. How incredibly sad. Everytime I came to visit she would ask me what time it was. Well, now she can hear the time whenever she wants! It says the time in a clear semi loud voice. It also says the date. This is also really helpful for her to remember to take her pills. There is an alarm. I did turn the hour announcement off. That wouldn't be good at night time. It really made her happy. And she has been showing it off to everyone. It fit just snug enough on her. I wish it was a velcro band but this will do for now.Every bit of it was solid. It was so easy to follow the instructions and set it up. When I set the time zone it started spinning and it went exactly to the right time! It is really fascinating how it works.

What time is it?
I do elder care/hospice nursing, and this is the best help to tell time. When there's so much to focus on, and confusion happens often, this is the one thing that helps keep a patient focused. Tells the day, date, time, am/pm, year.

Life changing for nearly blind grandma
I was disappointed when I first received this because it's so big. It has a thick band like a man's watch. I didn't think my 80+ year old grandma would wear something so large, but she loves it!! She has very impaired vision and this watch is a real game changer for her. She wears it all day and keeps it by her side at night. And I love the fact that it is atomic so she doesn't have to worry about setting it. (The initial setup does take a little time though.) It can speak the date, which Grandma also find useful. It was the perfect gift for her!

I would have given this watch a 5 except that the bracelet is rather crudely made, sharp andaggravating to the wrist. The watch itself performs exceptionally well. Notto sure how long the voice will keep going, but I would expect it to lastas long as my alarm clock which has been going for years. I wouldrecommend this watch to others with low vision problems it reduces thestress of straining to see what the hour is. Also the alarm is a great featureto alert you to appointment times. Looks and feels great! But...
I ordered this watch for my dad's birthday. I was getting it set up for him since he can't see well enough to do it and the time on the face was easy enough to set. But getting the voice and the hands to match I could not do. When the hands were right the voice wasn't and when the voice was right the hands weren't. You may wonder why it matters when he can't see it anyway. It matters because others look at it for the time. Anyway, try as I did many, many times, I could not get it to work. I followed the instructions over and over again and even had someone else help to see what I might be missing. I called the company, Magnifying Aids, who was courteous but not very helpful. I ended up sending it back. They gave me a refund minus the restocking fee even though I think the watch is faulty. The packaging looked as if it was opened previously by another customer who then also sent it back. I waited too long for a Feedback on this company - Magnifying Aids so I did not leave one. I really liked the look and feel of this watch and had I had enough time I may have exchanged it and tried another one. However, I didn't have time to get it for my dads birthday so I bought one from Radio Shack. It works well enough; it just doesn't look as nice. At this point, having had the experience with the company that I did, I would try really hard to find a watch in my price range from someone else.

Talking functions stopped working after about 1 year
The talking functions and all buttons stopped operating after about one year. It still tells time and seems to connect for time updates but is of no longer of any use to a blind person. We bought a replacement from a different brand and the same thing happened within a few months. It seems these Chinese are not made well or to last.

The watch is very easy to set up (by a sighted person)
The watch is very easy to set up (by a sighted person). My father-in-law is already enjoying it. We will have to figure out how to remove a couple of links in the band as it is too large for his wrist. The voice is clear and easy to hear. One piece of independence has been restored. Thank you!Just bought a second watch for my 92 year old mother. This one had a different voice which has an Australian accent but she is able to understand it so that's fine. It fits her perfectly, but she has large wrists due to arthritis. She is very happy with it.
