A comprehensive review of MTK3012SMU
I bought this product to convert my 900VA sinewave inverter equipped with 150Ah, 12v tubular battery. I used 12v solar panels of total capacity 315W. This product is the perfect solution for converting a normal inverter to solar inverter for low budget off grid applications. The box contains: Solar management unit (MTK3012SMU) designed for connecting into 12v batteries connected to 12v UPS/inverter and 12V solar panel, Datasheet and Warranty card with serial number.Product: I have bought it a week ago and it's running good. The dimensions defines only the overall packaging. The product is pretty small and requires only less space. It is equipped with a 1m 3 wire cable with a 16A 3 pin plug. Ensure you have a 16A plug rather than a 6A plug for AC power input. Wire connectors are provided for battery and solar connections. The AC output pin is a multisocket suitable for 6A/16A plug sizes. The unit is PWM type. LED indicators are provided, chronologically from left to right for indicating solar charging by a blinking green light/no solar power whilst it's off, red one glowing indicating panel connected reversely, red one glowing indicating battery connected reversely, and an output green led turning on indicating the system is running on mains AC in when the power button is on. If the power button is off indicated by no blue led, the inverter always draws power from mains which means the SMU works only as a charging unit for your battery.Choosing the product: Check your battery capacity. Choose power of solar panels atlest nearer or greater than double the capacity of battery. If battery capacity is 150Ah, choose panel of 150x2=300W capacity minimum for battery charging when main power is off. Don't get bothered about capacity of your inverter. Ensure that it works on 12v battery. Choose PV panels of 12v rated power if you are using MTK3012SMU. Choose the unit of required rating. Use panels with a total wattage of 360W maximum.Connections: Connect the battery and panel to the unit with correct polarity. Never interchange the wires. Choose black and red wire for negative and positive which will be helpful. I used 4sq.mm. normal copper wires for connecting 12v panel of 315W capacity to the unit and 6sq.mm. normal copper wires for connecting to the batteries. You may use solar DC cables also. Plug unit into the mains socket and inverter plug to the SMU's AC output. Switch on the power button. Ensure the blue led is ON. Switching of the power allows the inverter to always work on mains and solar charging also happens simultaneously. NB: The unit doesnt get switched on if the battery is not connected.Working: Keep always the power button ON. When there's no solar power, the unit works as a normal inverter. When solar power is active, the mains supply is cut off and the inverter discharges, at the same time battery charges through the solar power. The unit trickle charges the battery even when the power consumption is low. When the battery power level is very low, the unit makes the AC output on, ie mains is on, and battery charges through the solar power too. When power button is off, the battery charges through inverter and solar power which is not advisable.Warranty: The product has a warranty of 1 year availed through the serial number and the invoice also is provided alongwith.Customer service: Customer care officials placed a call within 24 hours after an enquiry about working of SMU. Customer service is good.Delivery: Delivery was on time. The packaging contained only an additional plastic cover by Amazon. However, the product packaging by Microtek was excellent.

Product doesn't working properly.
It is used with 360X2= 700v and assamble with 1100v inverter but current supply not stopped by this smu and battery 🔋 overcharged and continue charged by panels. There is no auto cut or control with this product (SMU) so this is useless and money waste. Accuracy is 0 Efficiency is 0.

Works as expected
Only thing is to have battery setup as per load requirement and to serve backup for 12 hrs. It's value for money specifically in rainy season.

Defective Product and Worst service experience
I purchased a Microtek SMU 3012 that turned out to be defective. Despite not testing it within the return policy period, I discovered the issue when connecting it.After booking a service call, an engineer diagnosed a board problem and took the device to the service center. However, it's been 10 days with no resolution or response from Microtek. I've diligently documented the process and communicated with customer support, but the lack of progress is concerning. It is very pathetic experience.
