I am That - Main Takeaways:
You Are Not the Body or Mind:The body and mind are transient, subject to change and death. Your true essence is the awareness that perceives all these changes, which is beyond birth and death.Self-Inquiry Leads to Liberation:By investigating the sense of "I Am" and inquiring into its source, you can transcend the ego and realize your true, infinite nature. This realization dissolves the illusions of separation and individual identity. The Ego is an Illusion:The sense of being an individual, separate from the world, is an illusion. When this illusion is dispelled, you experience the unity of all existence as consciousness.Direct Experience Over Theory:True spiritual realization comes through direct experience, not intellectual understanding. The goal is not to learn about the Self, but to directly know and experience it.Witness Everything, Identify with Nothing:Practice being the detached witness of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This witness is the true Self, beyond action and reaction.Freedom from Suffering is Possible:Liberation from suffering comes when you realize that you are not the limited, individual self but the infinite consciousness that is always free. The Present Moment is Key:Realization is not something to be attained in the future; it is a recognition of your true nature in the present. The sense of “I Am” is always with you and points to your true Self.I Am That is a profound spiritual classic that offers direct teachings on self-realization, the nature of the ego, and the path of self-inquiry. Through Nisargadatta Maharaj’s clear and uncompromising guidance, the book leads readers toward the recognition of their true nature as pure awareness. Though challenging at times, the insights in this book have the potential to bring about deep transformation and liberation for those who sincerely engage with its teachings.

The True voice of the Highest Knowledge
What can one say?I was given this book as a gift in 2005. That night as I read it, I felt a very significant shift. It felt like my heart had been pierced by his words: clear, direct and stainless. By a spear, as it were. One outcome: my perception of my own Guru changed. I slowly began to understand what my Guru meant all along, especially when my Guru said that Non-Duality was 'not for everyone'. And the best answer I got from my Guru when I had asked about this book: "Please read it- It will give one Courage"In many other books written by various other authors on the subject of NonDuality, their language and concepts are academic, 'intellectual' and often employs complicated and convoluted hyperbole often indirectly hinting (perhaps unwittingly) at the author's own erudition and education. But in this book, NM's language and philosophy is simple and direct, based entirely on personal experience as opposed to second-hand knowledge, which makes it understandable and most endearing. My greatest relief was that NM did away with all externalities and all blind rituals. There were no 'Special Auspicious times', any external Earth-centric 'Power zones', any body-centric 'Chakras', or a Galaxy of 'Ascended Masters' out there, no 'Djins, Ghosts and Magicians', no reliance on 'Special Herbs' or chemical concoctions- nothing, except your Self.He made me understand the need to be earnestly aware of the 'I AM' and dwell on that alone, without expectation or desire. This rang true for me: the sense 'I AM' was there all along, from childhood, and IT never changed, ever. I had to be aware of all, then see the sense of the witness, anytime, any place.Yes, To this day I have never completed this book, ever. Even now, I cannot get past a couple of pages without feeling the shock of a tremendous calmness and quiet that makes me stop reading, drop the book, and emerge into a spontaneous state of immensely quiet witnessing that has no labels and definitions.Yet one sees people who are disparaging in their comments, calling NM's words 'Condescending', and 'Drivel', to name a few. yet there are some others who are critical of the quality of the paper, its feel or texture. And of course, the Grammar Nazis who are drawn, by force of habit, to the supposedly grammatical errors and typos. To them, one can only say that this book is probably NOT meant for them- for now. :-)But yes, one day, one will awaken.

Heaven for truth seeker ✅
Not for everyone! Only for truth seeker. You will get nothing if you want something intellectually, spiritually, outwardly. But you will loooose everything what you already have. Read it. Give time to it. Read countless times, you will be dissolved .

Ultimate guide to spirituality.
Good book and ultimate guide to spirituality. At times it becomes slightly repetitive, but if you get the drift, you will enjoy the read. Recommended.
