The Spanish Missions of California (A True Book: Spanish Missions) Paperback – September 1, 2010

I purchased this book, along with several others on California history, for my fourth grade class. This is a good book to help augment Internet searches and other reference materials. Pictures are good quality as well as information Good choice overall.

Recently visited my daughter in California together she and I have visited two of the 21 missions along the coast in California. Really enjoyed it and wanted to share my experience with my five and seven-year-old grandchildren So I bought this book. On our way from school to swim lessons my granddaughter read it aloud to myself and her brother, Learning about life in the missions, and new vocabulary words, and how the Padres and Neophytes lived and worked together and how the Padres taught them about Christianity.

A good resource for learning about the Spanish Missions.

I should have read the details a little closer. It is a small book.

I purchased this as a reference book for my son's 4th grade project. It gives a great overview of the CA missions.

The content is accurate. Illustrations are quite good. I found the insertion of phonetic spellings a bit distracting.
