Amazing, much safer than a hot water bottle.
So, I had a friend whos hot water bottle burst on them and scalded them all over their legs. So we having kids thought it safest to not use them anymore and looked for alternatives. We bought this wheat bag thing, and have not really used it much. The younger kids didn't like the lavender scent (But they are kids after all- I thought it was really nice) but thought it more a novelty.Fast forward a month or so, I'm just stood there minding my own business when I get a back spasm (I've torn my back muscles 3 times so have long term issues)It hurt. I mean I've never had it that bad. I thought heat is the best, so took this bad boy out. Now each microwave has different power settings, but ours is 700w, and to get the bag hot we leave it in for 3.5 -4 mins.It the bad really helped, just like a hot water bottle would, but better. Now I say better because1. The heat isn't scolding like water in a bottle.2. The bag is wheat so it conforms to your body shape (Like moulded to my back shape)3. I love the scent (But that's personal preference)Three things to remember with this bag though.1. When hot it is damp(ish) due to the wheat absorbing moisture. Not a big deal in my opinion, but some people may not like it.2. After a few uses when you use it again you need to microwave the bag with a small glass of water as to rehydrate the wheat. (The last thing you want is the wheat becoming so dry it scorches, and to burn it you would have to leave it in for ages and not watch it)3. When microwaving it, just keep an eye on it. Pop it on for say 2 mins, take it out feel the warmth mix it a bit and pop it back in until the desired heat level is reached (4 mins for us gets it nice and hot)I would recommend this product. It's easier and safer than hot water in a bottle, and I hope my review is of some help.

Pleasant warmer
It is a lovely shade of lilac and warms up where ever its placed. It helps relieve pain in my knee and has been used repeatedly. The thickness of the item does not mean its stiff it will drape over the area warming the entire area. I think it was a reasonable expense and represented good value for money.

Microwavable bean-filled hottie for the bed.
My wife likes her hot water bottles, no matter what the time of year. We bought this as a spare, as she is rather prone to burst them. This is a non openable bottle filled with some kind of bean. You put it into a microwave for about 10 to 15 minutes and the bottle eheats up quite well. It has an outer soft velvety coat and is not unpleasant to hold. I find, though, that the beans do give off a musty odour which seems to percolate through the bottle walls and is not especially pleasant, hence my dropping the score of this product to 4.

Good item but heavy
This is a good item however it is wise to note that it is quite heavy but does the job

I wouldn’t risk it with the elderly or infirm.
The recommended heating time doesn’t get the bag very hot. The temptation therefore is to ignore the instructions and microwave it for longer which, in the hands of someone who doesn’t realise the danger, could result in it going up in flames. I put mine in for a bit longer than recommended but would not risk walking away from the microwave while it’s heating. The warmth dissipates after around 45 minutes. It’s more effective and will stay warm for longer if it’s inside clothes or tucked between your body and the chair/sofa. If it’s exposed to the air it will cool faster. The lavender fragrance isn’t all that, I wouldn’t choose this particular wheat bag over another in the basis of the promised fragrance.

Safer substitute for a hot water bottle
I put it in my microwave for 5 mins (longer than the instructions). The heat doesn't last as long as a hot water bottle but it is still fine for my purposes so I'm still pleased with it.
