Getting a second drive in a dell laptop is fairly simple by removing the CD drive and installing the device in the place of the CD drive. It plugs into the socket where the CD drive got it's power and communication so you can install any 2.5 inch disk drive in the place if the CD drive with very little modification. The cover for the old CD drive is used to make the slot where the CD slot was inserted but it is very easy to remove and install on the replacement device. It works with bot conventional drives and SSD drives so upgrading the boot device to improve the speed of your laptop is fairly quick and east and relatively inexpensive.
