A fun set of MLP chapter books for a developing reader. The chapters are very short and story is relatively easy to grasp, I've been using them with my daughter so she can practice reading and comprehending and summarizing the text in stories without relying on pictures to assist for school.I love that it included stories for all of the main characters and that I didn't have to hunt them all down. They are decent sized paperbacks and coe in a nice high quality storage box that look nice on the shelf. A good price for the full set of 6, definitely a great gift for an MLP lover.

I have been a fan of Friendship is Magic for quite a while, and though I've been keeping up with the DVDs and Blu-rays and reasonably keeping up with the graphic novels for the comics, I hadn't checked out any of the novels until I heard about this boxed set. Featuring the first six novels in the mane series at a price that works out to less than $5 a book, this set is definitely worth investing in if you are in the same boat. If you have a favourite mane six pony, she is featured in this set. The books themselves are a bit simplistic and written for a young reader, but the stories aren't bad and expand on the show just as much as the comics do. There has never been a better time to check out the novels.

My daughter watched the MLP series, and we already had the Rainbow Dash book. She really wanted the rest of the books, and I was very happy to find they all came in a beautiful collection box! We will have much fun reading them all

Personally I can't stand the mind numbing drivel that passes for writing in these books. The kid on the other hand loves them, they are at the right reading level for a child in Grade 1 - 2 (probably a bit easy for a second grader). Put together fairly well and whatever the drawbacks of the contents it gets the kid reading so that's always a win.
