returned it!
I love the idea of this toy...the hands on and interaction between the screen and the child is cool!. I wanted to get it for my kids for a while now, but didn't have an ipad. so when I saw that it came out for fire tablets..I had to get it and so I did!. I haven't seen a toy like this one before, but I had to give it 2 stars. I couldn't let my kids play with it!!!!. While Monster is a cute character, I had to return this toy because I don't like what the monster says.By the way, you can literally just get a white dry erase board and dry erase markers and save all that $$. It performs the same!

Works PERFECTLY and my child loves it!
I purchased the Osmo Creative Kit for my 6-year-old daughter. We had tried the Disney "Color and Play" coloring books before, which are supposed to make the characters come to "life" on the tablet screen, but they never worked on her Fire tablet and almost never worked on my phone. My daughter was devastated because she had been SO excited by the concept of her coloring pages coming to life. I hoped the Osmo kit would be a good replacement, and I am in awe of how PERFECT the Osmo Creative Kit is! Set-up was flawlessly easy (unlike the horrible installation process of Color and Play), and Osmo has an incredible array of app options that you can download for free to go with it. The Osmo monster character that guides kids through the activities is clever, and my daughter laughs constantly at his antics. Her drawings are "pulled" into the tablet screen and animated with perfect clarity to join in with his adventures.Overall, this product is amazing and fun and perfect for any child with a creative side. It works to draw out kids' imaginations even further with great activities that are both fun and educational. I am very interested in getting the Osmo Genius Kit as well since we are so pleased with the Creative Kit. I cannot recommend this product enough!

My gamer son chose this over his ds- thats a first here
I have to say, I never expected it to be this good. This Osmo is so interactive. Our soon to be 6 year old( this was and early birthday gift) has chosen to play this over his Mario games on his ds. I cannot believe it honestly because our kids are like so addicted to video games. I know that sounds awful to say it but as a parent of 3 kids - I work from home, my husband is gone all day at the factory, sometimes they just need stuff to do without having me constantly entertaining them. However, video games have become a real pain in the butt around here. They cry when levels are too hard, they cry when its time to get off the game, they cry if they can't have the games and I am just pretty sick of it. On the one hand you have the fact that Mario, Pokemon, Zelda - Only small kid friendly Nintendo games- its problem solving and and cause and effect type stuff as well as working on hand eye coordination. On the other hand its just they are video games... Theres always a bad guy and some sort of way to defeat him til next time- whether its bopping him on the head- throwing eggs at him or locking him in a lamp for ever... Theres always some bad guy and such...We are a gamer house and all 3 of our kids are so excited about this game! Our youngest 2 boys are most excited (at ages 6 -next week and age 7). While our 10 year old does not care a whole lot about this, he played for a few minutes the first day and has not asked to since. Our 6 & 7 year olds ask to play each day now. Our 6 year old does not seem to care at all about ds games anymore. With Osmo... Oh my gosh its like a breath of fresh air... There are 3 different modules I guess you'd call them and you can pick which you want to do. There's monster- which has a friendly bear monster type guy- super cute, btw... He asks you to draw stuff to decorate rooms, and things to hold and he is interactive with the stuff you draw on the white board. Such smart learning and problem solving!!!The second is another that has like balls bouncing all around and you have to figure out where the lines you need to draw go to get them to hit their goals. This is a thinking game!!! Constantly changes, My youngest has worked on it for 2 days and has gotten to level 40 already- at about 2 hours a day. He is advanced and loves a challenge. He does prefer this to Mario and Zelda games completely. The third is strictly drawing- it teaches how to draw anything they could want to draw and its awesome. Also, It makes kids feel confident about their drawing because your hand and pen show up on your tablet screen and you can see where you need to essentially 'trace' over to get a good shape going. Just beyond happy with this. I am going to use this feature to upload my artwork and redraw them. Its great for adults in that way too. I love this set and it was absolutely worth it. Our family will be investing a lot into this company. Also, I have to just say it- I am so happy they offer it for a fire tablet. We cannot afford $500 for an ipad but we do have 2 tablets from Amazon- a 7" and a 10" fire tablet. We love them and they work exceptionally well. We paid full price for the Osmo set and it seemed like a lot when we did but wow worth it and the 'wow' factor will stay with this because there is always a new thing your child can draw. The people that invented this are just genius and a big Thank You to the company for inventing such a smart product that actually replaces video games!!! I LOVE it. Can't wait til Christmas to get some more for the boys.

This is so awesome it's almost mind boggling
My mother in law gave the osmo kits as Christmas gifts to the 5 older grandchildren this year. They are 9, 8, 6, 6 and 4. 3 of those kiddos are mine. My 2 boys received the genius kit and my 6 year old girl received the creative kit. I was absolutely amazed at what these things are capable of. Monster ended up being a huge hit with all 5 of them and we spent Christmas Eve passing around the dry erase boards. It's such a fun game. This kit included the base, top reflector piece, dry erase board, and the Eraser bag that has dry erase markers and a towel inside. You can play Monster, Masterpiece and Newton. They haven't stopped playing since they received these and I've already ordered the pizza game, detective game and Mickey Mouse sketch game. Highly recommend.

Endless play!
So easy to set up! Kids loved it and could have easily played for hours. White board is a very nice quality and sturdy so unlike storebought boards which bubble and bend. Simple to set profiles for each child based on their age and the app adjusts difficulty accordingly. My youngest was amazed when Monster pulled her drawing into the screen. The way the character interacts with the drawings is pretty awesome. The only very small problem was that our green marker was dry out of the box. A bummer but not a deal breaker since it says you can use other dry-erase markers.

Disappointed I couldn't exchange
I wanted to exchange this for the iPad version (I didn't know grand kids were getting an iPad) and was sad to discover there were no returns. This was not noted when I ordered it.

Great for little curious minds!
This was a gift for a two year old (which I think might be below the recommended age) and he LOVED it. The app is very engaging and he loves the Monster. The markers do dry out quickly, but I think you can use any dry erase markers. If your board starts to look a little murky from repeated use, wipe it with a little rubbing alcohol.
