Nice Alternative In Addition to Wooden Sticks for Rock Drumming
I like these for basic rock drumming. They're a nice alternative to have on hand alongside some more traditional wooden sticks. They feel slightly thicker and heavier than my other sticks. And despite the claim that they offer "more rebound than wood sticks", I've found them to bounce significantly less so they may not be the best choice for music that requires a lot of finesse work. They do, however, seem to absorb more shock which may help prevent problems like tendonitis.Though the shafts themselves are aluminum, the parts that touch your drum kit are not. Both the tips and the polyurethane shaft covers have a variety of replacement options.I especially like using them for shows because I feel more confident they are less likely to break than wooden sticks. You'll still want some spares handy though in case you drop one of em like I did at my last show.
