Stainless Steel Soapmaking Miter Box for Cutting Loaf Soaps

The box is fine. Had a hard time getting the wrapping off the sides. This washes up easily. It isn't all messy like the wooden ones you see on YouTube demos. The depth is a problem for the cutting blade, though. The wooden handle stops the blade short of passing all the way through the soaps for a full cut. My husband had to cut off some of the wooden handle from each end, so the blade would pass all the way to the bottom of the miter box. A chef's knife would work fine, or a "taper's" knife, but, the leverage of cutting would create another problem for me.The box is plenty wide. If it is too wide, a piece of wood in the gap would work fine.

The first slot is not a 1" cut. It's a little less. Not what I was hoping for!!

It's nice, but I can't seem to get even cuts on all my bars.

Very disappointed with this item. This was manufactured poorly, the slots are rough you can cut yourself with itThe peanuts it was shipped in are permanently stuck on to the inside of the box. I wanted to return it and received a rude reply to my email.

One of the tines between the two slots bent outward but still works okay.

Love it. I'm near sighted in one eye far in the other I cant cut a straight line with a ruler. All my homemade soaps would be wonky sizes and even I didn't know what they would look like until after I made the cut. Some would be an inch wide on the top and 7 inches wide on the bottom. (that may be a little of an overkill statement but you know what I mean) Now my soaps are all the same size, easier to dry, stack, store and package for the next craft fair. Should have gotten this about ten years ago.

I love this uniformity. It was a little splurge for myself as I only make soap for myself and my family. I would like to mount this to a counter though

Bought for my soapmaking hobby. No problems at all. I use this to measure how thick I should cut my soaps.
