Linksys Velop Mesh Home WiFi System, 1,500 Sq. ft Coverage, 10+ Devices, Speeds up to (AC1300) 1.3Gbps - WHW0101

Originally I had this product set up as wifi connection to my main wifi 6 node. And that wasn't great. It didn't work for certain things (like the nintendo switch. But largely the NS has a horrible wifi reception in general. So that's kind of on the NS). I thought at first, well, I can just plug this into my ethernet in the secondary location and that should be better projection. But somehow doing this (or maybe it was coincidence) crashed my original router. I was so close to returning these products and buying another one from somewhere else. But tech support came through and really helped me out. I still don't know what caused the 'crash' that required me to reset the entire router/network system. But it's working now and I'm very thankful for their support. Turns out the device IS smart enough to know when it should act as a node when connected to ethernet or when to use wifi. And now it's working as it should. I did not see this mentioned anywhere, but I honestly didn't look as hard as I could have. One thought if you are connecting this as an ethernet node: First, make sure you connect it using the app with wifi (just follow instructions in the app when setting up a child node). Next disconnect it, move to the hardwired location you want to use, plug the ethernet in FIRST and THEN the power. This is the only thing I did different that caused my initial crash. Again, maybe a fluke, maybe coincidence. But I'm just glad it's working now. Bonus that this works with a newer mesh router (wifi 6 enabled). Obviously this device won't support wifi 6, but it's nice not to spend more than you need to.

Purchased the Linksys router to extend my existing WiFi network to a dead zone in my house. The router was easily setup via the Linksys app - plug in, select add node in app, and wait a few minutes for updates and connection to be completed. Mesh networks work very efficiently with nodes connecting to each other wirelessly and providing uniform WiFi coverage in your home. The router can also be used for your primary WiFi router for a small home or apartment.

This node is great if you are running a 2x2 Mimo wifi mesh. The speeds are extremely slower than the 4x4 Mimo version of this node. Other than the wifi speeds, this is a great and stable product. if you have less than 400mbs internet connection, then this is for you.

Our baby node was malfunctioning. I ordered this and then a Linksys tech support person spent about 45 minutes patiently walking me through the set up process. The new node works perfectly. Linksys is a wonderful company!

I set up a mesh system consisting of three of these. Over the span of 18 months two of the nodes have bricked themselves. The process of convincing customer service it is bricked and pre-paying for a replacement is a pain. In addition the nodes would randomly go offline and require a reboot and when moving about the house the mesh system would not automatically load balance by transferring tablets and phones to the nearest node, this was especially problematic when the entire system required a reboot because the parent node would come online first and EVERY item in the household would connect to that node and never rebalance to closer nodes that came online later. Would not recommend this product or any mesh system from LinkSys as a result.

Exceptionally easy to add as a node. It fired right up and installed quickly. No issues at all.

I had very poor performance issues on my WIFI at home, this product was right to fix it, however you have to keep in mind to build the signal extension it takes at least 2 towers, one goes plug-in into the modem via ethernet the other can be plug to the wall and connects via wifi, also dont connect it more than 40-50 feet away from the modem other wise it will have range issues. To connect the second tower I had to call tech support spent one full hour on the phone doing system reset and firmware update but the quality of the service agent was AMAZING and the problem was solved. Overall Experience = Great Product + Great Support

before i bought this on i was using the powerline adapter and it crap. my ISP was 300M up/down but i only got 20 downloadand 12 up and it cost way more than this device. now i switch to this device to use the speed is up to 50% of mine ISP that i have.

Durante esta etapa de confinamiento por la pandemia, agregue este segundo nodo de Velop a mi red, para extender la cobertura de internet en mi departamento. Esto nos ha permitido a mi esposa y a mi, ubicarnos en distintas habitaciones y no tener conflictos durante nuestras conferencias de trabajo, esto sin sacrificar cobertura de internet y por ende calidad en nuestras llamadas. Instalarlo es cosa de niños, la app lo hace solito! Excelente compra! Tengo en mis planes comprar un 3er nodo para tener cobertura en el 100% de mi departamento.

The mesh router does help but the speed does decrease in the “dead” zones and is considerably expensive.

Good stuff, good signal around the house , installed 2 nos covers full house of 1500 sq feet even doors are are closed in rooms

Purchased 4 of these mesh routers and after a couple of years 3 of them suddenly stopped working, they just wont turn on, i tried everything, only 1 out of the 4 is still functioning.
