BLUE is here!
This blue color was fabulous! A little soft, some artists might keep a brush handy. Blues tend to be very hard to color with, they fade too easily, but this one yells “Blue’s here!” If you’re a bears-down-hard with a pencil type person like me, take a little care here. A definite “Buy it again” for this customer!

I love the non photo blue concept but Ive yet to figure out how to use it on a new scanner. However its possible to edit out the blue in photoshop or Manga Studio for a clean ink over. I suggest you pay extra for faster shipping other wise you gotta wait a bit. Maybe I was too anxious. Love them though!

Tips break
Seems to be an original Prismacolor colored pencil. However, I find when I buy my Prismacolor pencils from Amazon, the lead breaks a lot. I use a metal hand pencil sharpener and I find the Amazon pencils break off the tip a lot when I sharpen them. Not everytime but most of the time. If I buy my Prismacolor pencils from say Michael’s, I find this doesn’t happen as often. Maybe the lead is softer, I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s the way Amazon stores them, like they get so cold they freeze or maybe they get so hot they melt. I’m not sure. Other than that, they seem to be original Prismacolor coloring pencils.

Great tool for sketching or lining out illustrations for printing.
Great tool for sketching out drawings to ink that will not reproduce when printed. Very pleased with it and use it all the time.

What did I pay for?
I recieve only one single pencil on an item that says there was to be a 12 pack of pencils. Now amazon refuses to help with the missing 11. The single pencil works great. Just expected 12 of them since the product listing said there was to be 12.

NOT Prismacolor -- it's the Japanese brand "Karisma Color"
First off, based off of below comments, the seller is not reputable. The product that they are shipping out is NOT the product that they are advertising. Be aware! The barrel says "Karisma Color Non Photo Blue", NOT Prismacolor. Apparently, Prismacolor licensed Japan to sell its product in Japan under the name Karisma Color, and Prismacolor-branded colored pencils are not available in Japan. (This is based off of Internet research, because I was confused at my Karisma Color pencil, and thought that I had been ripped off.)I purchased this pencil to do initial linework prior to inking my art. This review is based upon that.Pros: The pencil sharpens well and evenly. The core is smooth, laying down vivid color very easily, with minimal effort. Smooth and creamy to use, feels great on paper.Cons: This pencil is a little too soft, and cannot hold a point well. This may be an issue if you want to use a blue pencil to do preliminary linework before inking. I personally do very detailed artwork, so this is unfortunate for me.I mentioned that the color is strong. In fact, the color can be a little too strong, especially for initial linework. Strong vibrant color is great for coloring, but not so great for drafting artwork that you intend to draw over with black ink.It can't be easily erased, unless you draw very lightly.Final thoughts: I think that for my purposes, I should have purchased a pencil with a harder core. The soft lead of this pencil doesn't suit my needs well. I'm curious to know what others have experienced, however.

Soft leads
Leads break easily when sharpening

not sure what the hype is...
I kept hearing " get a photo blue pencil"I found that the lead breaks easily, does not erase well and you need to have a light touch if you don't want the blue to show on your final piece..guess I have a heavy hand.

Rip off!!
The item was advertised as a 12 pack I thought i was getting a good deal but i got ripped off!As much as I Love prismacolour premiers I only got 1 pencil!$12 for one pencil is outrageous the seller should be ashamed of themselves!!
