Stunning Solid Wood Mid-Century Cabinet
The media could not be loaded. Gorgeous Cabinet. They are exceptionally well built. I started with one, not sure if I would like it. I loved it! I quickly purchased a second. They have made my room complete with the mid-century look and the addition of some puck lighting. The size of the cabinets is perfect for our room. I am going to add lamps to the tops. The fact that they are thick, solid wood makes them very sturdy and of good quality. We did not find the cabinet difficult to assemble. I laid out all the pieces alphabetically, then, as I read the directions to him, I handed my husband the parts he needed. Voilà, my husband and I had them together in one hour each.

Gorgeous Solid Wood MCM Bookshelf!
Beautiful MCM solid wood bookshelf. I've been looking at this for over a year, and then the price dropped and I grabbed it. Incredible style and quality for the price (solid wood construction for under $300???). Assembly is beautifully illustrated, step-by-step Ikea-style. Takes awhile, but the result is worth it. Some reviewers complained about the thin back panels, but in my experience this is pretty standard. Keeps the shelf from being too heavy to move! My only complaint is the strong chemical smell which I assume is from the finish, but it is slowly lessening. I have no regrets, in fact I smile every time I look at it!

Beautiful Bookcase
This bookcase is fantastic! It's very solid, real wood, great size and perfect for books and various other items you'd like to display. The color is a nice dark brown and fits perfectly with my other furniture. I built this myself and it took around 2 hours with not much difficulty. It's very heavy and sits in place without any concerns of it tipping over. Everything was in great shape on delivery and came in a very large box. No scratches, cracked pieces, dings or any issues at all. The stickers were a lot different and smaller than the ones in most of the review photos and very easy to remove with some rubbing alcohol. This bookcase is perfect!!

Removing warnung label voids the wareanty, good bookcase for price however there are some issues
I contacted the manufacturer to tell them about the issues. They said they would take them into consideration but not to remove the label because It would void the warranty. Too late. I told them they need to put the label on the back or make it easy to remove and not void the warranty.I did not like the fact that they put a warning label on it that is not supposed to be removed because it's on the inside where you can see it. The sticker is difficult to remove. I'm going to have to get it off with fingernails and a damp cloth (do not use chemicals, it will ruin the finish). The warning label is valid because it is a dangerous tip over hazard. It comes with brackets and a zip tie to attach it to the wall which is highly recommended if you have children or pets like cats that might try to climb on it. It had another warning label on the back panel but I just flipped it around so that the panel faces the wall. The back panels are cheap, flimsy, do not match up perfectly and are problematic to attach. I would not recommend using the screws in the middle of the back panels because even with measuring trying to screw it on is hit or miss and you can put a visible hole through the panel. Even the predrilled holes in the panels don't match up. It might be worth considering not putting on the back panels at all. The rest of the bookcase with exception of the bottom of the drawers is solid wood, which is nice for this price point. I just wish they would have made the entire thing solid wood or done a better job with being able to line up the panels and install them on the back. The bottom of the drawers is actually more sturdy than the back panels, they will be okay. It was easy to put together following the instructions, although it did take me over three hours by myself. You will need both a flat head and a phillips screw driver. I'm taking off a star because of the low quality back panels. If I had to assemble it again I would not put the back panels on. It's taller than I thought it was going to be but I like the height (5'3"). Overall I think the bookcase is pretty solid and a nice piece of furniture for the money.

Nice Heavy Bookcase, Easy Assembly
If a 70 yr old woman can put this together, you can, too! All the holes were in perfect alignment, so everything went smoothly. Helps if you have a screw gun. 😊 I chose not to put the backing on. It was flimsy and cheap looking, and I like it better without it. Lets more light in. Took a couple of hours. Nice heavy bookcase, but I still feel it's a little pricey for something you have to put together yourself, even if it is solid wood.

Beautiful, overpriced, and lacking quality control
The box arrived intact. As I was unpacking the pieces, I noticed that a lot of them had minor damage or flaws. To be expected with flat pack furniture. Simplihome makes much of the fact that this is a "solid wood" bookcase. What it is is many small pieces of wood glued together (much like bamboo wood). That means that there are lots of places for the wood to become compromised. And it was. I worry about this holding up over time and how it will respond to fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Other issues--the drawer bottoms and backing on the bookcase are very flimsy. I reinforced the bottom of the drawers with wood glue and put drawer liner in there to protect the bottom. There were quite a few cracks in the wood and places where the joined pieces were starting to warp or didn't lie flat. The stickers that are on each piece are difficult to remove and leave a residue. The little plastic pieces that cover the cam locks are not a good match for the wood stain. Assembly was straightforward, if time-consuming. No missing pieces, no misaligned holes. Finished product is sturdy and beautiful. I love how it looks in my space. I don't regret my purchase, I just think it should be about $100 less. If you can get it on sale, I'd absolutely recommend it.
