Love my neck Bucky for reading
I wanted to soften it up a little by taking out a few of the husks, and I put it behind my neck when I sit in my recliner to read, then I can lean way back and still have my neck supported and have my reading lamp where I need it. I want the neck support to try to prevent ever getting in neck, hump or bent forward as I age and I read a lot or I sew in my chair and this helps provide that support whether I’m leaning all the way back or just partially. Love it and my Dr. happy with idea.

And 20 years later, I'm still a fan!
I bought my first Bucky (the purple one in the pic) back in the 90's at the airport when traveling on a red eye from Seattle to Florida. I work in front of a computer screen for 10-14 hours a day, so I tend to have a lot of tension in my neck. It was just OK on the plane ride, but what I eventually used it for was supporting my neck while sitting in my recliner. That Bucky eventually came to known as my "neck buddy" and everyone knew when the neck buddy came out that I would be asleep in just a few minutes. The Bucky has lasted all this time, but the cover is wearing, so I needed to order a new one. Based on other reviews by those who had also had their Buckys for many years, I was skeptical the new one would not be of the same quality or provide the same support. I was pleasantly surprised that my new Bucky does, in fact, give me the similar support. I do think the neck opening seems a little shorter (see pics), but maybe it's just because the older original one has stretched out? Don't know for sure. Regardless, it is still providing me good support and once it "comes out," I still go to sleep within minutes. I would recommend this Bucky for those needing to give their neck support.

Best ever pillow!
I got my first Bucky neck pillow about 20 years ago. It’s used everyday and has traveled extensively. This year I bought a second one, so my old one can live in my bedroom. The new pillow is lovely with one exception. It seems that the neck cut-out in the new model is not as deep as the original models. While I do prefer the deeper indentation, I will probably get used to the feel of the new pillow.I love these pillows! I’d really like to try some of their other products, but their prices are prohibitive for me.

Not quite the same as the old Buckys
I have a Bucky buckwheat u shaped neck pillow from decades ago that has stood the test of time. I use it for neck support when sleeping and for travel and wash the cover once a week. It’s still in perfect shape. Recently my husband expressed interest in getting one of his own. The new Bucky seems more cheaply made with cheaper rougher cover and not cut as deep or supportive as my old one. Here are photos of old and new; the blue one on the right is the new one. Why do manufacturers mess with a good thing? The new one is serviceable but just not up to par with the old one.

Using with CPAP
I’m using this pillow at night with my CPAP machine. I sleep on my side and I put the pillow on my neck with the open part toward the bed. It rests under my chin and keeps my mouth closed, which is important for CPAP users. It’s much more comfortable than a chin strap or mouth tape.

Promises what it delivers
Firm yet comfortable, nice color. Overall a decent product that is worth the price.

Really poor customer service.
I love these Bucky neck pillows. I have slept on one for more than 20 years. I recently ordered two new ones to replace the ones I used all that time. I was glad they came with covers, because the covers from the old ones were worn. However, the zippers on the new Bucky pillows did not zip. I tucked them away in a drawer because in my busy life I did not have time to follow up with the company. I finally sent them an email explaining the faulty zippers and asking for replacement covers. They refused to replace the covers with ones that have functioning zippers. Here is the message I sent to them:"I am sorry to hear you will not stand behind your product. It would cost your company very little to satisfy a long-term customer.I don't know where to turn to find replacement covers for my Buckys that I have slept on every night for 20 years. The old ones are very worn but the new ones I ordered do not zip. Please let me know if you have any suggestions about finding replacement covers."Their reply:"I am not how to get replacement covers, as Bucky only offers the entire pillow. Covers are not sold separately. I am sorry I could not be of more help on this issue."It would have cost them so little to create goodwill from a longtime customer. I would have been writing a testimonial touting their products instead of sharing my disappointment.

Horrible compared to older Bucky neck pillows
This is my 3rd Bucky neck pillow. I've been using them for years. This one is totally different. My other covers were furry and this one is a not-very-pleasant feeling velour-ish fabric. This one has a trimmed seam which the others did not, and the feeling of it is annoying. Worst of all 1) the u-shaped cutout for the neck is not deep enough and 2) it's LOUD. The older ones must have had a little batting mixed in with the hulls because the soft noise they made was never a bother. The new pillow I just received, is several times as loud. The hulls just continue to crackle as they shift under any pressure. I'm so disappointed. If you don't know the difference between prior Bucky pillows, it might be okay for you and what you expect from a buckwheat pillow. If you're looking to replace a worn-out Bucky, it looks like we're completely out of luck.
