Too flimsy to empty
These poop bags are thinner than other compostable poop bags we have tried (17mil vs 20 mil) and the bag is so flimsy that when I try to evert it to dump the contents into a toilet for flushing, the dog waste sticks to the bag and is messy and awful to empty. If you are putting it into the garbage with the waste inside, then I guess the thinnest bag is better, but if you are trying to get the poop into the sewage treatment stream instead of the compost pile, these bags are not as good as others available on Amazon. And most commercial composting, as is available in our town, will not accept poop bags with waste material inside; they MUST be emptied.

Disappointed
Wanting to contribute less to the plastic pollution, I heard about these compostable bags for doggie waste and purchased them. What the issue is is that many of the perforations where you tear one bag off from the other DON"T EXIST so your only choice is to guess where you might cut with scissors (which is not easy)--often I miscalculate and the bag is then open on both ends and unusable. The manufacturer needs to correct this if they want to stay in business.

Need Both Hands to Access
Very thin supposedly compostable "poop" bags that require both hands to peel open. For obvious reasons, this cannot work -- if one has even one dog, not two or three, it is not possible to let go of a leash to open these bags. In addition, the bags are very thin, and may or may not leak. I hope they are "compostable", but they are not useful because no dog walker will be able to devote both hands to opening the bags. Competitor's bags open more easily (with one hand!), are also compostable, and are sturdy and leak-proof. Shop around.

Not always cut correctly
Overall I'm happy with these. For now, I'm holding off reordering because I'm trying several different biodegradable brands before I find one I want to keep.I have a large build, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She is about the size of an American Cocker Spaniel in height, length and weight, tipping the scales at 25 pounds. With the "large bags," we're able to wrap her smaller poos, tie it off, flip it inside out then tie it off again. We can do that with these bags, but only when they are cut correctly! It seems like about ⅓ of the time; we get a bag open on both ends, like a tube. We find ourselves tying those off, picking up after her, then tying off the other side. If she was a big dog, such as my late Doberman, these might not work!I'd say quality control is lacking with these in a big way.On the opposite side of the issue, we've run across a few bags in the three rolls we've gone through thus far, that have been sealed at both ends, and we've had to tear a side open!On the positive side, most of the bags are fine, and I find their texture pleasant, they are actually easier to open in my experience than most other bags, and the unscented ones don't smell like anything.I haven't tried burying them for composting, but I feel better about throwing them in the landfill knowing they will be broken down. My village and surrounding towns/villages/neighbourhoods also all passed laws outlawing plastic grocery bags years ago so I don't get them anymore for cat litter or dog poo, which is kind of annoying.

CompostaPoop Biodegradable Bags
After much research/use of similar Pet waste bags, ordered these - Love them and will re-order again! They tear off the roll very easily, they seem very sturdy and leak proof for short term use (pick up waste, carry during walks and toss). Consistent quality and no split seams. They can handle multiple poops in one bag (I have a large Lab and a Corgi). And most importantly, we feel better about their claims of Biodgradability where other bags we've used may not be truly biodegradable (recycled packaging only, or commercial facility compostable only). These bags are "Home Compostable" (though we don't plan to do this), and they are designed to compost in 45-90 days. They are plant based and completely plastic free! ASTM6400 Certified. Also, we don't notice any increase in odor compared to previous bags used:). The only pet waste bag we will use from now on!

Too difficult to open
Love the idea of compostable bags, especially for animal poop. I use these to scoop my cat litters. But I can't imagine walking a dog and having to open these. These are so difficult to open and I use 2 hands and wet my fingers. Still, they really don't open easily at all. Additionally, to tie them, you have to twist and knot. For those reasons, I really can't recommend them, unless you have a lot of patience. I have pre-opened a bunch of them and would advise you to do the same before you walk your dog. I will look for a similar product with handles built into the the plastic bag.

So hard to open!!
These bags are OK—they do what they are meant to do (hold poop)—if you can get them open!! The material is a weird soft/sticky feeling which I guess makes it very clingy to itself? It can take me *several minutes* to separate the opening of one bag. It should not be that hard! This isn't a sturdy bag by any means, but I haven't had one break on me yet so it works. I wanted to buy a compostable option and I guess it's all a trade-off vs. the heavy plastic ones on the market. But I will try a different brand of compostables when these run out.

Great compostable 💩 bags
Great poop bags. Since we live in the city we go through poop bags like they are going out of style. I always try to be as environmentally friendly with the amount of plastic we use. These bags have been durable, are a good size, fit in every bag dispenser we have and don’t have a fragrance. They fit the bill for poop disposal bags and I’m happy that they will decompose instead of staying around forever in the landfill.
