One of nicest watches I have
Dear Casio,This is my first GShock that’s all digital with a metal bracelet. I ordered it less than a week ago and received it on July 4th which was a nice surprise. This is NOT my first GShock but my first GShock that has a metal band, digital, and with radio receptors. My previous gshocks were not this nice. I am able to sync my watch with my iPhone 13Pro and it also can sync with radio frequency’s so it’s always got the correct time and I never have to worry about it. The fact that this watch is solar powered is awesome. This is my second Gshock that is solar powered. This means I never have to worry about it running low on battery although the battery powered ones have lasted me years without replacing the battery. I have a mud master that has a compass and it could measure your footsteps but that’s ok. Watches like this one isn’t meant to be used for that. This watch can be dressed up or down. I plan on wearing this watch for just about everything. I am used to using Analog watches. Every watch I have, Movado and Bulova are all analog watches. My gshocks are all digital and analog. This is the first all digital watch that I have and it took a little to get used to but it’s a great watch.I have been wanting a GShock watch like this for a long time but the prices were always too high for me. I received several Amazon Gift cards from my job totaling $160 and I used it to buy this watch and I am so glad that I did. Outside of my Goodyear welted heritage boots from Grant Stone this is one of the best investments I have ever made. My other GShock that is solar powered was bought back in 2016 and it’s still working well and hasn’t missed a beat. I wanted a watch that could go with a suit and tie or can be dressed down. My other gshocks all have a rubber band which will not look right if I wear a dress shirt and a tie.The watch face is a bit on the smaller side compared to my other gshocks and it is quite heavy but it is very comfortable to wear all day every day. One really cool feature this watch has is that you can connect to your iPhone so if you ever misplace your iPhone you can activate a button on this watch and it will play a sound in the phone loudly so you can find it if you’re in the same area or room. Haven’t tested the range of the “phone finder” but it is super loud for the most part. The one thing that I don’t really like about the watch is that the metal band is super shiny like chrome and I can tell it will scratch easily. It’s ok though because it’s like patina on leather boots. Scratches on gshocks are like a badge of honor to me.I do like keeping my stuff in pristine shape so I did buy a glass screen protector and installed it on the display so the screen will never get scratched. I do this with almost every watch that I have except for my other gshocks. I work from home now A days so I’m not going to be hard on the watch but I want to make sure it’s protected in the event I have to do something rough. I am confident this watch will last me a few decades which makes this watch a worthy investment. To me, this square metal gshock style will always be “in style” so I don’t have to worry about replacing it for whatever reason. This will be my everyday watch as it can do just about everything a watch needs to do. Thanks in advance!Edit: I’ve had this watch a few days and it’s awesome. I really think I did a good job in picking this watch. It is everything you could ever need from a watch. I was never a big fan of the square watch face but I am a fan now. I haven’t worn it dressed up but I don’t see why I couldn’t wear a suit or tie and this watch. It has all the functionality that I need. It’s got solar, multi-band 6 (which means I’m always on time), bluetooth, and a positive display. It’s got all the features I need except for a compass, heart rate monitor, and a step counter which would be nice to have but I understand this watch isn’t made to have them. It took me a while to get used to reading the watch because I’m used to analog/digital watches but I’m getting the hang of it. I was not a big fan of the square but I’m starting to love it each and every day.If you’re listening Casio, please put a compass, heart rate monitor, and step counter in this type of watch. It would make this watch a force to be reckoned with! I just love this watch and already looking for my next metal gshock.

If I only owned one watch...
If I only owned one watch this would be a top choice. It took about a week & a half sitting on my windowsill to charge the battery to full but once it was full it's stayed that way from wearing normally. I turned off the synchronization for 30 days to see how accurate the actual watch was & it gained about three seconds. Where I live, it can catch the signal from the atomic clock in Colorado if the weather's good but that doesn't happen everyday. The Bluetooth sync does work at 12:30 am & pm so twice a day. Very visible face & easy to read. I've had several compliments on how nice it looks as well. My other Casio is a 10 year old wave ceptor solar that's still running fine & still picks up the atomic clock signal almost daily as well. It has an acrylic crystal with a bunch of scratches so I thought it was time for a new one. This one has hardened glass that should hold up even better. And for toughness: it's a G-Shock; nuff said. Maybe in another 10 years I'll start thinking about a new one.I do have one complaint. It has an alarm function but the alarm is so quiet it's pretty much useless. In the reading I've done about it, that's a drawback of the steel case. I've never had a functional alarm on a watch anyway so it isn't something I'll miss; I turned it off.Unlike most of the mid or higher end G-Shocks this one is small enough it fit under a sleeve & doesn't look big at all on me. Very comfortable to wear every day. It's not cheap but as a friend of mine often says: buy quality or buy often. If it lasts as long as my old Wave Ceptor I'll consider it money well spent.I also meant to say I ordered it on a Tuesday & it was delivered to me that Friday; from Japan! Hard to beat shipping like that.As others have said, the bracelet links are quite easy to remove/replace for sizing since they're held by spring bars. All you need is a small pin long enough to push the spring bar in & pop the link out just like removing a band on most watches.

Love even as a small wrist woman!
As a woman with a small wrist, I love this watch! I have a 6 inch wrist and was worried about the end link width being too wide.At first I thought I looked a little big but after a few days it felt right at home. The bracelet is super comfy and the watch stays in place (unlike some watches where I’m constantly readjusting). It also arrived very quickly from Japan!

STN display clear enough; bracelet concerns
STN is a step up in display clarity from your average Casio LCD, however not necessarily a large jump. For example, the WS-1600H is larger print and similar in viewing angle to the GMWB5000.Bracelet is strange. One end of the clasp angles outward, which could catch on things you're handling. Lugs are fixed outward, necessitating larger wrists. Spring bars are likely an improvement over pins, but still a bother. 4 positions for micro adjustment are very useful. You very well might install a custom band in the end, but I haven't yet.The buttons are easier to jab at than your average 5600. But I find that I grab for case before I find the recessed button. Beep volume lower than you might expect (WS-1600H much louder), but fairly audible.Beautiful grayscale dial border. This style would improve so many other models.5600s in general have some odd choices, such as ordering the stopwatch 3rd instead of 1st. The leading first digit is narrow, as seen after 20:00 and on the stopwatch. The absurdity of having to hold the adjust button and wait is really disappointing too.Casio makes the best watches which remain imperfect. Fans dig the square series with good reason.
