What's frustration free packaging ? How is it different from the retail packaging?

Frustration-free packaging is something Amazon pioneered several years ago. The idea is that retail packaging is often designed with theft deterrence in mind; items are often made intentionally difficult to remove from their packaging. Frustration-free options are made to be simple for you to open. An example is the packaging of batteries--instead of a retail clamshell package, a frustration-free design is a simple cardboard package that can be opened without the aid of scissors, box cutters, etc. The packaging of the item is still sufficient to protect it. The difference is that it should be simpler for you to open.

That is a good question and you should feel free to ask the manufacturer for absolute confirmation. However, since I avoid leaded glass at all costs, i will also answer the question as a "user" of their products. The Bodum glass products for drink are made from of borosilicate glass (per their website). There is no mention of lead in any of their manufacturing process. Glass is typically made two ways: either Soda-lime-silicate glass (combo of sand, lime and soda ash) OR Borosilicate glass which is made of by adding boric oxide to the basic soda-lime-silica mix. The Bodum product is the later. Lead is only added to glass to add sparkle and is referred to as "cut glass". If the glass is intended for food purposes, it must be labeled as having lead or called "cut glass" neither of which applies here.

Where is it made in ?

The product was "designed in Switzerland" but, in this age of global manufacturing, made elsewhere. There is some minor variation in size from glass-to-glass that you no longer notice that after a bit. I've found them to be great for both hot and cold drinks...but be sure to heed their warning about dropping ice into them..! I've found them to be dishwasher proof, too. Friends have rushed out to buy their own after experiencing them in our home.
