After wiping the barrel down, the clp dries. is it still protected?

Yes, it's protecting. CLP is made to soak in and fill all of the pores in the metal. The first time you use it I suggest over applying, letting it sit overnight and wiping down the next day.

Is this good to lube up new guns for first firing and breakins?

Yes, it works on new firearms as well as dirty ones. This is a great product.

I’m still confused about clp. do i put gun oil or grease on after applying clp?

CLP means an all in one formula, c clean, l lubricate, p protect. CLP does all three. If you want to use a solvent first to clean more, you can. If you want to oil after to lube more, you can. But CLP does all of them. This product is nice because it does all 3 well and is not oily/greasy when you are done.

Is this a pack of 2 cans?

When I purchased from this seller I bought a box of 12 cans it cost me $108.91. You'll have to contact the seller since it doesn't say how many cans are in the "pack".
